Nitrous oxide emission hotspots from organic soils in Europe
2014
Abstract. Organic soils are a main source of direct nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions, an important greenhouse gas (GHG). Observed N2O emissions from organic soils are highly variable in space and time which causes high uncertainties in national emission inventories. Those uncertainties could be reduced when relating the upscaling process to a priori identified key drivers by using available N2O observations from plot scale in empirical approaches. We used the empirical fuzzy modelling approach MODE to identify main drivers for N2O and utilize them to predict the spatial emission pattern of European organic soils. We conducted a meta study with a total amount of 659 annual N2O measurements whic…
Catalytic properties of the trivalent lanthanide oxides in the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide
2017
Przeanalizowano katalityczne właściwości tlenków trójwartościowych lantanowców w reakcji redukcji nadtlenku wodoru do tlenu gazowego i wody.
Surface modification of graphite+polymer composite and ITO electrodes by Nafion®+cupromeronic phthalocyanine films
1999
Abstract The surface of indium tin oxide (ITO) and graphite+polymer composite electrodes can be modified by Nafion ® films containing a little amount of dispersed electroactive substances, such as phthalocyanines. This procedure allows the recovery of electroanalytical information on the electroactive deposited substance. The preparation methods for these types of modified electrodes are discussed from the voltammetric results obtained in this work. The Nafion ® net acts as a permeable membrane to the hydrogen ions. Furthermore, the presence of methylviologen within the Nafion ® film makes the electron transport throughout this membrane easy.

ChemInform Abstract: Unique Regioselectivity in the C(sp3)-H α-Alkylation of Amines: The Benzoxazole Moiety as a Removable Directing Group.

The benzoxazol-2-yl substituent is easily introduced by oxidative coupling or nucleophilic substitution and can be removed by hydroxide or by hydride reduction.

First synthesis of chiral 3-vinylindoles as 4π-components for diels-alder reactions
1995
The first syntheses of chiral 3- and 2-vinylindoles bearing sulfoxide or (-)-menthyloxy functional groups at the β-vinyl positions by way of procedures based on the Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons and Wittig reactions, respectively, are described. Some Diels-Alder reactions demonstrating the 4π-reactivity of these compounds are reported.
Über die authoxydation ungesättigter verbindungen. VI. Mitt. Die autoxydation des 9,11-octadecadiensäuremethylesters
1956
The Me-ester of 9,11-octadecadienoic acid reacts in 1.2 and 1.4-position with moleculare oxygen to give relatively low molecular oxygen-copo…
Electrochemical Syntheses of Carboxylic Acids from Carbon Dioxide
1987
The first report on the reduction of carbon dioxide is due to the venerable name of Hermann Kolbe, who, in 1861, published with R. Schmitt the reduction of carbon dioxide to formate with metallic potassium (1). Seven years later he introduced to the Chemical Society in London his assistant E. Drechsel, who “after many unsuccessful experiments, made during several years” (2) at the end succeeded in reducing carbon dioxide to oxalate with metallic sodium or with potassium amalgam in anhydrous conditions. Soon afterwards Beketov (3) and Royer (4) opened the series of papers dealing with the direct involvement of carbon dioxide in electrolytic processes. Since then the reduction of carbon dioxi…
Catalytic combustion of ethane over high surface area Ln1−xKxMnO3 (Ln = La, Nd) perovskites: The effect of potassium substitution
1997
Publisher Summary As a general trend, the substitution of the rare earth cation by potassium decreased the intrinsic activity, reduced the reaction order in oxygen, and, for the more substituted samples (x>0.10), it increased the selectivity to ethene. Supported platinum or palladium catalysts have so far been used almost exclusively, because of their excellent activity. However, their high price, tendency to be poisoned, and volatility in some applications have estimulated the search for suitable substitutes. LaCoO3, as a potential auto exhaust catalyst, starting a wide interest in the catalytic properties of perovskites. Their specific application as catalysts in flameless combustion has …
