Collective 2$^{+1}$ excitations in$^{206}$Po and$^{208,210}$Rn

2016

In the present study, $B(E2; 2^{+}_{1}\rightarrow 0^{+}_{1})$ values have been measured in the 208,210Rn and 206Po nuclei through Coulomb excitation of re-accelerated radioactive beams in inverse kinematics at CERN-ISOLDE. These nuclei have been proposed to lie in, or at the boundary of the region where the seniority scheme should persist. However, contributions from collective excitations are likely to be present when moving away from the N=126 closed shell. Such an effect is confirmed by the observed increased collectivity of the $2^{+}_{1}\rightarrow 0^{+}_{1}$ transitions. Experimental results have been interpreted with the aid of theoretical studies carried out within the BCS-based QRP…

Occurrence of platinum, palladium and gold in pine needles of Pinus pinea L. from the city of Palermo (Italy)

2003

Abstract Preliminary data on the presence of Pt, Pd and Au in airborne particulate matter from the urban area of Palermo (Sicily, Italy) are presented. They were obtained by analysing 40 samples of pine needles (Pinus pinea L.) collected in and around the city. Observed concentrations range from 1 to 102 μg/kg for Pt, 1 to 45 μg/kg for Pd and 22 to 776 μg/kg for Au. Platinum and Pd concentrations in pine needles are up to two orders of magnitude higher than their crustal abundances. They exhibit a high statistical correlation (R2=0.74) which suggests a common origin. Precious metal concentrations measured within the city centre are much higher than those occurring outside the town. The dist…

Nitroarene hydrogenation catalysts based on Pd nanoparticles glued with PDA on inorganic supports: Multivariate Curve Resolution as an useful tool to…

2021

[EN] Two green catalysts based on Pd(0) nanoparticles (Pd NPs) anchored through PDA on porous silica and magnetite have been synthesized using a generalized simple and reproducible "two-step" methodology. Both catalysts were tested for a model reaction, the hydrogenation of 4-nitrophenol using NaBH4 as the hydrogenating agent, and especially good activity has been achieved in the case of the catalysts containing magnetite as inorganic core (Pd NPs-PDA@Fe3O4). We analyzed the effect associated with the catalyst separation method (centrifugation or magnetically) that affect to the distribution and aggregation degree of the Pd NPs. In addition, we also correlate the final catalyst morphology w…

2012

The use of palladium nanoparticles stabilized by natural. beads made of an alginate/gellan mixture in the Suzuki-Miyaura cross-coupling reaction of arenediazonium. tetrafluoroborates with potassium aryltrifluoroborates. (1 : 1 molar ratio) with loading as low as 0.01–0.002. mol% under aerobic, phosphine-, and base-free conditions. in water is described. The catalyst system can be reused. several times without significant loss of activity.

Palladium-catalyzed synthesis of aryl-substituted polyamine compounds from aryl halides

1997

The reaction of polyamines having primary amino groups and 1,2-diaminoethane and/or 1,3-diaminopropane fragments with aryl bromides or iodides in the presence of sodium tert-butoxide and (dppf)PdCl2 (dppf = 1,1′-bis(diphenylphosphino)ferrocene) proceeds selectively leading to monoaryl-substituted derivatives of polyamine. This reaction provides a convenient method of arylation of di-, tri- and tetraamine compounds. The Pd-catalyzed reactions of 1,3-diaminopropane and 3,3′-diaminodipropylamine with more reactive 1-bromonaphthalene can be used for the preparation of sym-dinaphthyl derivatives of these amines.

Activity of SiO2 supported gold-palladium catalysts in CO oxidation

2003

Abstract Bimetallic Au-Pd catalysts supported on silica with different Au/Pd atomic ratios were prepared by simultaneous reduction of palladium and gold precursors by ethanol in the presence of the polymer, polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). Formation of alloyed particles was detected by means of X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and CO chemisorption measurements. The catalysts were tested in the catalytic oxidation of CO using a plug–flow reactor. The CO conversion was determined as a function of temperature. The monometallic palladium and the palladium-rich catalysts behaved quite similarly and were the most active catalysts. …

Palladium-ADC complexes as efficient catalysts in copper-free and room temperature Sonogashira coupling

2014

Abstract The metal-mediated coupling between cis-[PdCl2(CNR1)2] [R1 = cyclohexyl (Cy) 1, t-Bu 2, 2,6-Me2C6H3 (Xyl) 3, 2-Cl-6-MeC6H3 4] and hydrazones H2NN CR2R3 [R2, R3 = Ph 5; R2, R3 = C6H4(OMe-4) 6; R2/R3 = 9-fluorenyl 7; R2 = H, R3 = C6H4(OH-2) 8] provided carbene complexes cis-[PdCl2{C(N(H)N CR2R3) N(H)R1}(CNR1)] (9–24) in good (80–85%) yields. Complexes 9–24 showed high activity [yields up to 99%, and turnover numbers (TONs) up to 3.7 × 104] in the Sonogashira coupling of various aryl iodides with a range of substituted aromatic alkynes without the need of copper co-catalyst. The catalytic procedure runs at 80 °C for 1 h in EtOH using K2CO3 as a base. No formation of homocoupling or ac…

A straightforward copper-free palladium methodology for the selective alkynylation of a wide variety of S-, O-, and N-based mono- and diheterocyclic …

2009

Abstract High-yield alkynylations are successfully achieved by a simple and widely accessible catalytic system for an unprecedented variety of heterocyclic bromides and chlorides in position -2, -3 or -5: pyridine, quinoline, thiophene, furan, thiazole, benzothiazole, pyrimidine, pyridazine, pyrazine, dioxepin halides are efficiently functionalized in short time reactions. This copper-free methodology employs 1 mol % palladium only, with inexpensive PPh3 and amine base. The ionic liquid solvent allows a straigtforward separation of products and recycling opportunity. Unsuitable substrates and secondary reactions are also reported in order to point out further progress in cross-coupling usin…
