On the Coincidence of the Feedback Nash and Stackelberg Equilibria in Economic Applications of Differential Games

In this paper the scope of the applicability of the Stackelberg equilibrium concept in differential games is investigated. Firstly, conditions for obtaining the coincidence between the Stackelberg and Nash equilibria are defined in terms of the instantaneous pay-off function and the state equation of the game. Secondly, it is showed that for a class of differential games with state-interdependence both equilibria are identical independently of the player being the leader of the game. Stackelberg-Cournot and Cournot equilibria in a mixed markets exchange economy

In this note, we compare two strategic general equilibrium concepts: the Stackelberg-Cournot equilibrium and the Cournot equilibrium. We thus consider a market exchange economy including atoms and a continuum of traders, who behave strategically. We show that, when the preferences of the small traders are represented by Cobb-Douglas utility functions and the atoms have the same utility functions and endowments, the Stackelberg-Cournot and the Cournot equilibrium equilibria coincide if and only if the followers’ best responses functions have a zero slope at the SCE.

Abstract The concept of Organized Learning is defined, and some random models are presented. For Not Transferable Learning, it is necessary to start from an instantaneous learning; by a discrete way, we must form a stochastic model considering the probability of each path; with a continue aproximation, we can study the evolution of the internal state through to consider the relative and absolute probabilities, by means of differential equations systems. For Transferable Learning, the instantaneous learning give us directly the System evolution. So, the Algoritmes for the different models are compared.

Assessing Mathematizing Competences Through Multiple-Choice Tasks: Using Students’ Response Processes to Investigate Task Validity

In this chapter, we report on multiple-choice tasks for assessing mathematizing competences of grade 9 students. The task format is complex, consisting of two layers. In the first layer, students are asked to consider a holistic modelling problem. In the second layer, they are asked for an atomistic competence (making assumptions, assigning variables, etc.) related to the same modelling problem. We conducted a qualitative study to investigate the validity of these tasks based on students’ response processes. Eight students worked in pairs solving the tasks collaboratively. Tuning a Mamdani Fuzzy Controller with an Imperialist Competitive Algorithm

We have implemented a fuzzy controller with a view to regulating a single-input and single-output second-order linear system. The fuzzy controller was a Mamdami proportional-derivative controller. To determine the parameters of the fuzzy controller we have used an imperialist competitive algorithm. This type of algorithm has a long running time so we implemented also a parallel version of the algorithm that we run on HPC Zamolxes located at the Engineering Faculty of “Lucian Blaga” University from Sibiu. Because we did not have on this computer a version of MATLAB allowing to write parallel algorithms, we implemented the entire application in the C language using the MPI library.
