GAME AS FACILITATOR IN DEVELOPMENT OF PHONOLOGICAL PERCEPTION FOR PRESCHOOL CHILDREN
2016
Language is the highest form of communication, it’s given only to people and it is very important for children’s psychological development. In 5 – 6 years most of the children all native language’s sounds pronounce correctly, phonological perception is formed, however, not all children have reached an appropriate level of development, therefore compulsory preparatory school program of language acquisition in children creates an aversion to learning. Disorders of fonological perception are very complicated and require a lot of serious and patient work in the intervention. In 5 – 6 years of age, children are active, open, spontaneous, curious and very persistent. At this age closest activitie…
Homeopātisko preparātu aprite homeopātiskajā aptiekā
2016
Financial incentive to prepay in fixed-rate mortgages
2004
The borrower's financial incentive to prepay is a crucial determinant in estimating prepayment in mortgage pools and, consequently, in valuing mortgage-backed securities. In mortgage prepayment literature, this incentive to prepay has been proxied by both the ratio of the loan rate to the refinancing rate and by the arithmetic spread between the two rates; however, the former is considered to be a better proxy of the refinancing incentive than the latter by a section of the literature. In this paper, the authors check the accuracy of that statement and subsequently estimate two prepayment functions using, alternatively, the two proxies. The results indicate that the use of the ratio does no…
Rehabilitation of the atrophic posterior maxilla with pterygoid implants: a review.
2012
The purpose of this article is to review the literature published and to assess the success of treatment of patients with atrophic posterior maxilla with pterygoid implants. Studies from 1992 to 2009 on patients with atrophic posterior maxilla rehabilitated with pterygoid implants were reviewed. Those reporting clinical series of at least 5 patients with atrophic posterior maxilla (Class IV and V of Cawood and Howell), rehabilitated with pterygoid implants and fixed prosthesis, and with 12 months minimum follow-up were included. In each study the following were assessed: number of patients, number of implants, surgical technique, prosthetic rehabilitation, success rate, bone loss, complica…
Vertical preparation for fixed prosthesis rehabilitation in the anterior sector
2015
This clinical report describes a biologically oriented preparation technique (BOPT) for teeth and an implant for the esthetic rehabilitation of the maxillary anterior sector. The technique was designed to create an anatomic crown with a prosthetic emergence profile that simulated the shape of the natural tooth.
Municipal Climate Change Adaptation GOVERNANCE in Latvia: ApproachING Cross-sectorial and Multi–instrumental understanding
2021
Climate change adaptation being one of today’s main challenges on global agenda do affect people worldwide, but even though most decisions regarding climate change governance are made at the international or national level, the implementation of these decisions in most cases takes place at the local level. Municipal climate change adaptation research project in Latvia was carried out with special emphases on main stakeholder understanding, preparedness and communication factors using several complementary research methods – case study research in Salacgriva coastal municipality, sociological surveys with both Salacgriva town households / inhabitants (home visits / questionnaires) and also n…
Automation of the determination of hydrogen peroxide, dichromate, formaldehyde and bicarbonate in milk by flow injection analysis
1992
Automatic flow injection methods for the determination of hydrogen peroxide, dichromate, formaldehyde and bicarbonate in dairy products are proposed. They are based on reaction with vanadium pentoxide, diphenyl-carbazide, fuchsine-sulphur dioxide and alizarin, respectively. Sample pre-treatment (paper and membrane filtration, dialysis) is widely discussed for on-line incorporation. The usefulness of these methods was tested by applying them to different commercial samples, satisfactory results being obtained in all instances.
FIA-fluorimetric determination of adrenaline by oxidation with a solid-phase reactor of manganese dioxide incorporated in polyester resin beads
1995
Abstract The FIA-spectrofluorimetric determination of adrenaline was carried out by reaction of the drug with manganese dioxide entrapped in a polymeric material in a solid-phase reactor; the oxidized drug was monitored fluorimetrically at 540 nm (Ioxg. 330.0 nm). The calibration graph for adrenaline was linear over the range 0.5 - 20 μg ml−1 with a relative standard deviation of 2.0% (at 5 ug ml−1) and the sample throughput of 65 h−1. The influence of foreign compounds was studied and the method was applied to the determination of adrenaline content in a pharmaceutical formulation . ∗Present address: Institut of Chemistry, Warsawa University, Bialystok Branch, Bialystok, Poland.
Determination of essential metals in complete diet feed by flow injection and flame atomic absorption spectrometry
2002
A prior study of different sample pre-treatments for the determination of metallic elements in complete diet feeds was performed in order to choose the most suitable for these samples. The studied pre-treatment were: acid extraction (lixiviation), wet digestion (on microwave oven) and dry ashing mineralization (calcination). Lixiviation (acid extraction) with hydrochloric acid was selected due to its accuracy, fast and simple pre-treatment procedure. Due of the different levels of concentration of the metallic elements in the samples, the same manifold was used but with small variations. Copper (with on-line pre-concentration by chelating Chelex-100 resin), calcium (with on-line dilution) a…
Applications of Super Resolution Expansion Microscopy in Yeast
2021
Super-resolution microscopy includes multiple techniques in optical microscopy that enable sub-diffraction resolution fluorescence imaging of cellular structures. Expansion microscopy (EXM) is a method of physical expansion to obtain super-resolution images of a biological sample on conventional microscopy. We present images of yeast organelles, applying the combination of super-resolution and ExM techniques. When preparing pre-expanded samples, conventional methods lead to breakage of dividing yeast cells and difficulties in studying division-related proteins. Here, we describe an improved sample preparation technique that avoids such damage. ExM in combination with Airyscan and structured…
