Solar-assisted heat pumps systems for domestic hot water production in small energy communities

Abstract The paper investigates the energy performances of several configurations of solar-assisted heat pumps equipped with photovoltaic (PV) and photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) panels as well as solar thermal collectors for domestic hot water production. The systems are sized to serve small aggregates of users assumed as micro energy communities in low housing density context in the South of Italy. Electricity storages are also considered to smooth the interaction with the electric grid. Capsaicin differentially modulates voltage-activated calcium channel currents in dorsal root ganglion neurones of rats

It is discussed whether capsaicin, an agonist of the pain mediating TRPV1 receptor, decreases or increases voltage-activated calcium channel (VACC) currents (ICa(V)). ICa(V) were isolated in cultured dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurones of rats using the whole cell patch clamp method and Ba 2+ as charge carrier. In large diameter neurones (>35Am), a concentration of 50AM was needed to reduce ICa(V) (activated by depolarizations to 0 mV) by 80%, while in small diameter neurones (30Am), the IC50 was 0.36 AM. Plants respond to arthropod herbivory with the induction of volatiles called herbivore-induced plant volatiles (HIPVs). These volatiles appear to be important sources of information that attract parasitoids. Parasitic wasps foraging decisions are often affected by community characteristics such as community diversity and complexity. As part of a complex habitat, the presence of unsuitable hosts (non-host) may affect foraging behavior of parasitoids. In this chapter, we outline the importance of the presence of unsuitable herbivores on the behavioral responses of parasitoids. Lack of association between proliferative verrucous leukoplakia and human papillomavirus infection.

Purpose To analyze proliferative verrucous leukoplakia (PVL) for the presence of human papillomavirus (HPV) in different stages of the disease. Materials and Methods We studied 13 patients with PVL. In 10 patients (76.9%), a lesional biopsy was taken and frozen at −40°C. Four patients were instructed to mouth rinse with sterile sera. The biopsy and rinse samples were analyzed for HPV by PCR. Results We did not detect HPV infection in the PVL tissue or in the oral rinse of any of the 13 patients in any stage of the disease analyzed, neither in oral squamous cell carcinoma nor in the simple hyperkeratosis. Conclusion There was no association between PVL and HPV infection in our patients.

Benign epithelial oral lesions – association with human papillomavirus

Background The presence of human papilloma virus in benign oral lesions has been studied by different techniques obtaining extremely variable results. The objective of this study was to determine the presence of human papillomavirus in 83 cases of benign hyperplastic epithelial oral lesions. Material and Methods Eighty-three oral lesions with clinical or histopathological features suggestive of HPV infection were retrieved from the files of four oral pathology services. Kā arī tiek analizēts Brexita jēdziens, veidojot priekšstatu par to, ko patiesi nozīmē izstāšanās no Eiropas Savienības.
