Mono- and di-bridged heterobimetallic systems from group 5 hydride phosphido and hydride phosphino metalloligands. Crystal structure of Cp2Ta(H)( μ-H…

1997

Abstract The trihydrides Cp2MH3 (M  Nb, Ta) react with chlorophosphines PR2Cl (R  Me, Ph) affording phosphonium salts [Cp2MH2(PR2H)]+, Cl− (2 (a, b) 2′ (a, b)). Depending on the metal (Nb or Ta) and on the nature of the phosphine substituent (Me or Ph), deprotonation of these salts leads to hydride phosphino Cp2MH(PR2H) (3 (a, b) 3′a) or hydrided phosphido Cp2 TaH2(PPh2) (4′b) metalloligands. These two kinds of complexes are able to bind [M′(CO)5] or [M′(CO)4] (M′  Cr, Mo, W) organometallic fragments to give mono- or di-bridged heterobimetallic systems. The crystallographic analysis of Cp2Ta(H)(μ-H)(μ-PMe2)Cr(CO)4 (7′aCr) is reported and discussed.

Structural Versatility of Anion−π Interactions in Halide Salts with Pentafluorophenyl Substituted Cations

2008

A series of pentafluorophenyl substituted ammonium, iminium, amidinium, and phosphonium halides are presented which show extensive anion-pi interactions. Hereby, the well-known anion-donor-pi-acceptor as well as "eta6" anion-pi-complex type interactions are observed. The latter is supported by fixation of the anion on top of the aromatic system through hydrogen bonding. This arrangement was investigated by theoretical methods showing a highly attractive anion-pi interaction. In addition an eta2-type coordination of the anions to only two C-atoms of the electron-deficient ring system is described.

CH-Anion versus anion-π interactions in the crystal and in solution of pentafluorobenzyl phosphonium salts

2010

A series of phosphonium salts with pentafluorobenzyl substituents have been synthesized and were investigated in the crystal as well as in solution. The solid state structures of 1a, 1b and 2d reveal the presence of anion-π as well as CH-anion interactions. The two attractive, yet competitive forces seem to act in concert and a directing effect of the CH interaction on the relative position between anion and π-system is observed. The search for anion-π interactions in solution failed. Only CH-anion interactions proved to be important in solution.

Veresterung und Veretherung sterisch gehinderter Kohlenhydrat‐Hydroxylfunktionen mit dem System Triphenylphosphan/Azodicarbonsäureester

1979

Identification, by the “specific nucleus method according to Karagounis”, of the formation of secondary inhibitors Various onium…

Anticancer Agents: Does a Phosphonium Behave Like a Gold(I) Phosphine Complex? Let a “Smart” Probe Answer!

2015

Gold phosphine complexes, such as auranofin, have been recognized for decades as antirheumatic agents. Clinical trials are now underway to validate their use in anticancer or anti-HIV treatments. However, their mechanisms of action remain unclear. A challenging question is whether the gold phosphine complex is a prodrug that is administered in an inactive precursor form or rather that the gold atom remains attached to the phosphine ligand during treatment. In this study, we present two novel gold complexes, which we compared to auranofin and to their phosphonium analogue. The chosen ligand is a phosphine-based smart probe, whose strong fluorescence depends on the presence of the gold atom. …

Carbon–Phosphorus Coupling from C^N Cyclometalated Au III Complexes

2020

Abstract With the aim of exploiting new organometallic species for cross‐coupling reactions, we report here on the AuIII‐mediated Caryl−P bond formation occurring upon reaction of C^N cyclometalated AuIII complexes with phosphines. The [Au(C^N)Cl2] complex 1 featuring the bidentate 2‐benzoylpyridine (CCON) scaffold was found to react with PTA (1,3,5‐triaza‐7‐phosphaadamantane) under mild conditions, including in water, to afford the corresponding phosphonium 5 through C−P reductive elimination. A mechanism is proposed for the title reaction based on in situ 31P{1H} NMR and HR‐ESI‐MS analyses combined with DFT calculations. The C−P coupling has been generalized to other C^N cyclometalated Au…
