Abstract Background Drug treatment for secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease is recommended by guidelines, but it is not always followed in real life. This study wanted to assess the size of this gap and its impact on mortality in subjects after a cardiovascular event (MACE). Methods Patients with any of MACE in the period from January 1st 2011 to December 31st 2013, and more than one year of follow-up were selected from population of the Valencian Community. Cet article s’intéresse aux inquiétudes d’enseignants universitaires débutants avant leurs premiers cours, en tenant compte de leurs conceptions de l’apprentissage et de l’enseignement. Il s’appuie sur une étude empirique réalisée auprès de jeunes chargés de TD/TP de l’université de Bourgogne. Celle-ci montre que la quasi-totalité des jeunes enseignants ont des inquiétudes concernant la préparation de leurs interventions devant les étudiants. This paper aims to explore the potential role of Master’s of Education dissertation/thesis work in developing twenty-first century skills. A total of 600 education professionals studying Master’s of Education programmes in five countries – Poland, Portugal, England, Latvia, and Romania – were surveyed. The findings have revealed that participants recognise the usefulness of twenty-first century skills for their (future) professional practice, and perceive dissertation/thesis work as a valuable foundation for developing these skills.
