Two-site ELISA for quantification of the terminal C5b-9 complement complex in plasma

1993

Abstract A quantitative ELISA procedure using monoclonal and polyclonal antibodies against neoantigens of the terminal C5b-9 complement complex has been developed. The ELISA was demonstrated to be both sensitive and reproducible. The normal range for C5b-9 determinations, defined as 2.5–97.5% interval of the values obtained in 76 healthy blood donors, was 3.12–10.3 AU/ml. The presence of rheumatoid factor did not affect the determination of C5b-9 as demonstrated by immunoabsorption studies.

Revista electrónica de investigación y evaluación educativa

2006

The investigation results are presented: "An investigation or research about the most relevant variables from the student’s point of view which influence the general opinion about the teacher’s performance in the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente". The problems about the influence from the students perception in evaluating their teachers is taken on from two complementary perspectives: The first constitutes the qualitative analysis which has as a support the group interviews realized in each one of the academic programs. The second involves the quantitative analysis based on multivariate statistic tools. These perspectives allow elaborating a model to establish the grade of relevance each o…

FIA-fluorimetric determination of adrenaline in pharmaceutical formulations by oxidation with molecular oxygen

1998

The fluorimetric determination of adrenaline is carried out in a continuous-flow assembly and by means of the molecular dissolved oxygen. The sample solution merges with an NaOH stream, then the resulting mixture is heated at 73 °C and led to the flow-cell of the fluorimeter. The flow-assembly is very simple and the procedure is quick (107 samples h−1) reproducible (R.S.D. 0.6%), selective and suitable to be applied to determination of adrenaline in formulations. Calibrations graph are linear over the ranges 0.05–15 and 20–40 mgl−1.

Simultaneous Determination of Adrenaline and Noradrenaline by First Derivative Spectrophotometry in a Fia Assembly

1996

Abstract This article deals with the design of an unsegmented-flow injection manifold for the simultaneous determination of adrenaline and noradrenaline two structurally related compounds with overlapping spectra. An FIA manifold is proposed for the simultaneous determination in which the sample solution is directly injected into a carrier-reagent stream of aqueous NaOH. The selected wavelengths (first derivative) were 394 and 342 nm, for noradrenaline and adrenaline, respectively with an integration time of 0.4 s. The calibration graphs are linear over the range 2.0–30 ppm for both drugs. The method is applied to different synthetic mixtures of both drugs.

Attenuated total reflectance infrared determination of sodium nitrilotriacetate in alkaline liquid detergents

2005

Abstract An attenuated total reflectance infrared (ATR–FTIR) method has been developed for the direct determination of the chelating agent sodium nitrilotriacetate (NTA) in high pH cleaning formulations. Aqueous samples and standards were placed directly on the diamond ATR cell without any pre-treatment and FTIR spectra were recorded between 4000 and 600 cm−1. Measurement conditions were evaluated. Results obtained for five different commercial formulations containing from 6.22 to 9.25% (w/w) of NTA were in good agreement with the manufacturer's declared content (differences between 3.2 and −3.7%). Recovery studies evidenced the accuracy of the developed method, having found values between …

Organosulfates in atmospheric aerosol: synthesis and quantitative analysis of pm2.5 from xi'an, northwestern c…

2018

Abstract. The sources, formation mechanism and amount of organosulfates (OS) in atmospheric aerosol are not yet well understood, partly due to the lack of authentic standards for quantification. In this study, we report an improved robust procedure for the synthesis of organosulfates with different functional groups. Nine authentic organosulfate standards were synthesized and four standards (benzyl sulfate, phenyl sulfate, glycolic acid sulfate, and hydroxyacetone sulfate) were used to quantify their ambient concentrations. The authentic standards and ambient aerosol samples were analyzed using an optimized ultra performance liquid chromatography–electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrom…

Automated pre-column derivatization of amines in biological samples with dansyl chloride and with or without post-column chemiluminescence formation …

1999

On-line automation of two different liquid chromatographic procedures, a pre-column derivatization system and a pre- and post-column system, in order to generate chemiluminescence is reported. Dansyl chloride (Dns-Cl) was used as a pre-column reagent to form fluorophores and bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl) oxalate (TCPO) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) as a post-column reagent to generate chemiluminescence. This procedure is based on the employment of a primary column packed with C18 material inserted in a multi-dimensional assembly for sample clean-up and derivatization with Dns-Cl. The dansyl derivatives formed are transferred and separated in a LiChrospher 100 RP18 analytical column (125 x 4 mm …

Combination of supported liquid membrane and solid-phase extraction for sample pretreatment of triazine herbicides in juice prior to capillary electr…

2002

A possibility of a combination of supported liquid membrane (SLM) and solid-phase extraction (SPE) for the determination of atrazine at microgram level in different type of fruit juices is presented. In comparison to SPE extraction from juice samples, the application of SLM-SPE enrichment provides much cleaner extracts and the possibility of lowering the limit of detection as low as 30 microg/l. However, it was also shown that by appropriate manipulation of SLM extraction conditions mainly flow-rate of donor phase and volume ratio between donor and acceptor phase, the level of detection can be further decreased to 10 microg/l. The results suggest that the application of SLM extraction prior…

A solid device based on doped hybrid composites for controlling the dosage of the biocide N-(3-aminopropyl)-N-dodecyl-1,3-propanediamine in industria…

2015

A colorimetric composite device is proposed to determine the widely used biocide N-(3-aminopropyl)-N-dodecyl-1,3-propanediamine (ADP).This sensing device is based on a film of 1,2-Naphthoquinone-4-sulfonate (NQS) embedded into polydimethylsiloxane-tetraethylortosilicate-SiO2 nanoparticles composite (PDMS-TEOS-SiO2NPs). Semiquantitative analysis can be performed by visual inspection. Digitalized image or diffuse reflectance (DR) measurements can be carried out for quantitative analysis. Satisfactory detection limit (0.018%, w/v) and relative standard deviations <12% were achieved. The proposed device has been applied for the determination of ADP in detergent industrial formulations with reco…

119Sn-NMR Study on Bis(Tri-Butyltin)oxide Derivatives of Phenolic Compounds

1991

Abstract 119Sn-NMR spectroscopy has been utilized in the characterization of various phenolics as their bis(tri-butyltin)oxide, TBTO, derivatives. The present method has been applied both for determination of simple model compounds and for characterization of complex biopolymeric material originating from spent bleach liquor fractionated by an ultrafiltration technique. Based on the large range of 119Sn-NMR chemical shifts of TBTO derivatives of the phenolic compounds and the similar relaxation properties of 119Sn nuclei located in those derivatives, both qualitative and quantitative analytical conclusions can be drawn.
