Mesure du transport narratif dans le contexte d’une expérience de consommation transmédia

This research offers a French narrative transportation scale measuring the experience of transmedia devices in the arts and cultural field. First, based on a literature review of the definition and measure of narrative transportation, a new scale is presented and defended. Second, a qualitative study is conducted. The dimensions of narrative transportation are confirmed and items are generated to measure it. Results from factorial analysis leading to a reliable and valid scale of narrative transportation lived by the cultural consumer through the use of a transmedia device are presented.

Canard-cycle transition at a fast–fast passage through a jump point

Abstract We consider transitory canard cycles that consist of a generic breaking mechanism, i.e. a Hopf or a jump breaking mechanism, in combination with a fast–fast passage through a jump point. Such cycle separates two types of canard cycles with a different shape. We obtain upper bounds on the number of periodic orbits that can appear near the canard cycle, and this under very general conditions.

Sensitivity of precipitation forecasts to convective parameterization in the October 2007 Flash Flood in the Valencia Region (Eastern Spain)

Abstract. The Valencia region, on the Mediterranean coast of the Iberian Peninsula, is an area prone to torrential rains, especially the north of Alicante province and the south of Valencia province. In October 2007, a torrential rain event with accumulated rainfall values exceeding 400 mm in less than 24 h affected the aforementioned areas, producing flash floods that caused extensive economic losses and human casualties. Several simulations of this rain event have been performed with the Regional Atmospheric Modeling System (RAMS) to test the influence of the different convective parameterization scheme implemented in the model on the precipitation forecast.

Ethnopharmacological relevance: This paper illustrates the results of a study carried out in the Etna Regional Park (Eastern Sicily, Italy) concerning the traditional knowledge on medicinal use of wild plant species. It specifies contains the results of a quantitative analysis carried out for the first time. A total of 71 wild species are used for medicinal purposes. Two species, Astracantha sicula (Biv.) We analyze the spatial distributions of two groups of benthic foraminifera (Adelosina spp. + Quinqueloculina spp. and Elphidium spp.), along Sicilian coast, and their correlation with six different heavy metals, responsible for the pollution. Samples were collected inside the Gulf of Palermo, which has a high level of pollution due to heavy metals, and along the coast of Lampedusa island (Sicily Channel, Southern Mediterranean), which is characterized by unpolluted sea waters. Electrical Coupling in Ensembles of Nonexcitable Cells: Modeling the Spatial Map of Single Cell Potentials

We analyze the coupling of model nonexcitable (non-neural) cells assuming that the cell membrane potential is the basic individual property. We obtain this potential on the basis of the inward and outward rectifying voltage-gated channels characteristic of cell membranes. We concentrate on the electrical coupling of a cell ensemble rather than on the biochemical and mechanical characteristics of the individual cells, obtain the map of single cell potentials using simple assumptions, and suggest procedures to collectively modify this spatial map.
