Vascular Risk Factors in Mild Cognitive Impairment Subtypes

<i>Background and Aim:</i> To investigate the role of vascular risk factors in different subtypes of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) in a multicentric, clinic-based, cross-sectional study. <i>Methods:</i> Two-hundred and seven subjects with MCI were included in the study: 33 with single non-memory MCI (snmMCI), 42 with multiple-domain amnestic MCI (mdMCI-a) and 132 with amnestic MCI (aMCI). Bakalaura darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai atšķiras tēvu un māšu pašefektivitāte un bērna tempermenta vērtējumi, vai pastāv saistība starp vecāku pašefektivitāti un bērna tempermentu, un vai atšķiras pašefektivitāte un bērnu tempermenta saistības tēviem un mātēm. Pētījuma mērķis bija noskaidrot, cik atbilstoši pirmsskolas vecuma bērni un viņu vecāki ir spējīgi novērtēt bērna ķermeņa tēlu un noskaidrot kādas saistības pastāv starp šiem mainīgajiem un vecāku zināšanām ķermeņa tēla un ar ēšanu saistītas uzvedības jautājumos. Pētījumā piedalījās 54 vecāku un bērnu pāri. Starp vecākiem 41 sievietes vecumā no 29 līdz 40 gadiem (M = 33,17, SD = 3,75) un 13 vīrieši vecumā no 28 līdz 46 gadiem (M = 34,85, SD = 4,98). Kā arī 22 meitenes 4-7 gadi (M = 5,95, SD = 0,86) un 32 zēni 4-7 gadi (M = 5,74, SD = 0,96). Regulation of hdc expression and HDC activity by enological factors in lactic acid bacteria.

Aims: The aim of this work was to study the influence of enological factors on the histidine decarboxylase gene (hdc) expression and on histidine decarboxylase enzyme (HDC) activity in Lactobacillus hilgardii, Pediococcus parvulus and Oenococcus oeni. Methods and Results: Cell extracts and whole cells were used. Glucose, fructose, malic acid and citric acid diminished the hdc expression. Ethanol did not increase hdc expression or activity in cells, but increased HDC activity. Temperature and pH had effect on the activity of HDC but not on hdc expression. Vermetid reef can be considered a key intertidal habitat of Mediterranean Sea and increasing knowledge about this natural system is important for its conservation. Aims of this study is to assess topography complexity, structure and composition of the benthic assemblages associated to reef formation in a marine protected area highlighting possible effects of the protection.
