Ground and first excited electronic state interaction of FAD with some β-carboline derivatives

Abstract The spectrophotometric and thermodynamic properties of molecular complexes of flavine adenine dinucleotide (FAD) with some dihydro β-carboline derivatives have been investigated in aqueous solution. The molecular associations have been examined by means of electronic absorption spectra, since in each a new charge-transfer band has been located, and also the variation of the fluorescence emission of FAD on the solutions has been observed. The formation constants for the molecular complexes were determined from absorption data, using the Foster-Hammick-Wardley method. The essential oils of the flowers of Magydaris tomentosa (Desf.) DC. (Apiaceae) collected in Sicily (MSi) and Algeria (MAl), respectively, were obtained by hydrodistillation, and their compositions were analysed. The analyses allowed the identification and quantification of 23 components in MSi and 60 compounds in MAl, respectively, showing a very different profile in the composition of the two populations. The main components of MSi were cembrene (28.2%), α-springene (17.5%) and β-springene (14.8%), also present in MAl but in lesser amount (0.4%, 1.8% and 0.9%, respectively), whereas the principal constituents of MAl were (E)-nerolidol (35.4%), α-costol (13.3%) and β-costol (6.8%). Search for the Decay of the Higgs Boson to Charm Quarks with the ATLAS Experiment

A direct search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying to a pair of charm quarks is presented. Associated production of the Higgs and Z bosons, in the decay mode ZH→ℓ+ℓ−c¯c is studied. A data set with an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 of pp collisions at √s=13TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC is used. The H→c¯c signature is identified using charm-tagging algorithms. The observed (expected) upper limit on σ(pp→ZH)×B(H→c¯c) is 2.7 (3.9+2.1−1.1) pb at the 95% confidence level for a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV, while the standard model value is 26 fb.

Bakalaura darba tēma ir “Naratīva struktūra un kino stils Giljermo del Toro filmās “Pāna labirints”, “Purpura smaile” un “Ūdens forma””. Pētījuma mērķis ir saprast naratīvo struktūru un režisoriskās iezīmes, jeb stila iezīmes Giljermo del Toro filmās, šim mērķim teoritiskāja daļa tiek apskatītas kino valodas, semiotikas un naratīva teoriju tēmas. Lietojot semiotisko analīzi, naratīvo analīzi, kā arī izmantojot kinozinātnieka Jurija Civjana (Yuri Tsivian) rīku “Cinemetrics” tiks analizētas augstākminētās kinofilmas. Analizējot pētījumā rezultātus secināt par režisora kino stilu un filmu naratīvo analīzi.
