Stochastic Vulnerability Assessment of Masonry Structures: Concepts, Modeling and Restoration Aspects

A methodology aiming to predict the vulnerability of masonry structures under seismic action is presented herein. Masonry structures, among which many are cultural heritage assets, present high vulnerability under earthquake. Reliable simulations of their response to seismic stresses are exceedingly difficult because of the complexity of the structural system and the anisotropic and brittle behavior of the masonry materials. Abstract Restoration of protected areas in boreal forests frequently includes creating substantial volumes of dead wood. While this benefits a wide range of dead wood dependent invertebrate species, some of these are regarded as forest pests. Therefore, the risk of elevated levels of tree mortality in surrounding commercial forests must be considered. Restoration of out-of-focus images based on circle of confusion estimate

In this paper a new method for a fast out-of-focus blur estimation and restoration is proposed. It is suitable for CFA (Color Filter Array) images acquired by typical CCD/CMOS sensor. The method is based on the analysis of a single image and consists of two steps: 1) out-of-focus blur estimation via Bayer pattern analysis; 2) image restoration. Blur estimation is based on a block-wise edge detection technique. This edge detection is carried out on the green pixels of the CFA sensor image also called Bayer pattern. Oltre a segnare il paesaggio, il campanile, attraverso il suono delle campane, scandisce lo scorrere del tempo, annuncia gli accadimenti e richiama le comunità di fedeli alla preghiera. La campane fanno parte del patrimonio culturale locale ed il loro suono è un bene che appartiene alla collettività. In this paper we formulate a new time dependent model for blind deconvolution based on a constrained variational model that uses the sum of the total variation norms of the signal and the kernel as a regularizing functional. We incorporate mass conservation and the nonnegativity of the kernel and the signal as additional constraints. La lamina aparecio plegada y contiene una inscripcion iberica de una sola linea en cada cara que muy probablemente configure un solo texto completo. Sus caracteristicas formales son poco comunes, siendo el paralelo mas cercano el de las laminas votivas de El Amarejo. La presencia del elemento kutuŕ, frecuente en las inscripciones votivas rupestres, tambien apuntaria a una interpretacion religiosa.
