Abstract Operative method, course and complications were analysed retrospectively in 120 patients in whom a kidney tumour had been resected without nephrectomy. In 49 patients (18 women and 31 men, mean age 59 [38-77] years; 45 renal-cell carcinomas, 4 benign renal tumours) there was an "imperative indication" for an organ-preserving operation, because nephrectomy would have made dialysis obligatory. Chromophobe Renal Cell Carcinoma

SUMMARY A case ofchromophobe renal cell carcinoma is reported in a 73 year-old man. Light microscopically, the tumor was composed of polygonal cells with a slightly eosinophilic and a fine reticular pattern, and a reaction of the cytoplasm with Hale's acid iron colloid. Ultrastructural analysis showed membranous microuesicles within the tumor cells, with degenerated mitochondria. Immunohistochemical profile against intermediate filaments was positive to cytokeratin 18 and negative against uimentin. Flow cytometry and cytogenetics revealed a predominant bypertriploid population. Few cases have been published with flow cytometry and cytogenetic findings. We report a new case.
Unusual giant chromophobe renal cancer totally managed with laparoscopic technique: Report of a case

Highlights • We describe a case report of giant renal cell chromophobe carcinoma totally treated by laparoscopic surgery. • The size of renal lesion represents a critical point in surgical approach because to perform a laparoscopic radical nephrectomy can be challenging even for skilled surgeons in giant renal tumors. • A brief review of literature was performed to identify outcomes and potentially surgical advantages of laparoscopic approach for retroperitoenal liposarcoma. • The possibility of the laparoscopic approach derives from from the preoperative identification of adipose cleavage, from the absence of invasion of major vascular axes, from the absence of distant metastatic lesions.

Renal cell carcinoma (RCC) is the most common form of kidney malignancy. RCC is more common among men with a 2/1 male/female incidence ratio worldwide. Given the underlying epidemiological differences in the RCC incidence between males and females, we explored the gender specific 1H NMR serum metabolic profiles of RCC patients and their matched controls. A number of differential metabolites were shared by male and female RCC patients. These RCC specific changes included lower lactate, threonine, histidine, and choline levels together with increased levels of pyruvate, N-acetylated glycoproteins, beta-hydroxybutyrate, acetoacetate, and lysine. Nieru šūnu karcinoma ir viens no visbiežākajiem ļaundabīgajiem nieru audzējiem. Agrīnajās stadijās nieru šūnu karcinomai nav raksturīga kāda konkrēta simptomātika un lielākajā daļā gadījumu, tā tiek diagnosticēta netīši- veicot izmeklējumus kādas citas saslimšanas gadījumā. Pēc tam, kad audzējs ir ticis diagnosticēts, ir būtiski izvērtēt pacienta vispārējo stāvokli un riska faktorus, no kā ir atkarīga pacientu kopējā dzīvildze un recidīva risks. Apoptosis is a fundamental host defence mechanism against invading microbes. Inactivation of NF-kappaB attenuates encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) virulence by triggering rapid apoptosis of infected cells, thereby pre-emptively limiting viral replication.
