An Azide-Bridged Copper(II) Ferromagnetic Chain Compound Exhibiting Metamagnetic Behavior
1997
The one-dimensional chain complex [Cu(2)(mgr;(2)-1,1-N(3))(2)(mgr;(2)-1,3-NO(3))(2)(mgr;(2)-1,3-Me(3)NCH(2)CO(2))(2)](n)() (1) contains three different bridge groups,mgr;(2)-1,1-azide (end-on),mgr;(2)-nitrate, andmgr;(2)-syn,syn-carboxylate, arranged so that the azide and carboxylate groups bridge equatorially and dictate the intrachain magnetic behavior between the copper magnetic orbitals. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility studies at low field, and magnetization studies at variable field, reveal dominant intrachain ferromagnetism (J = 26 cm(-)(1)) but also much weaker interchain ferromagnetism (THETAV; = 2.3 K) and antiferromagnetism (J(eff) = -0.18 cm(-)(1)). The structure has…
β‐Ketocarbonsäureester mit trans ‐Enolisierung
1986
Tuning of the electronic and photophysical properties of ladder-type quaterphenyl by selective methylene-bridge fluorination
2016
The photophysics (spectral positions, band shapes, fluorescence quantum yields and lifetimes) of a series of fluorinated ladder type quaterphenyls L4P and L4P-Fn (n = 2, 4, 6) depend strongly on the degree and position of fluorine, despite the fact that substitution is not performed in the rings but only in methylene-bridges. This is driven by subtle differences in the molecular orbitals (MOs) participating in the electronic transitions, and in the vibronic pattern of the S0 and S1 electronic states as revealed by (TD)DFT calculations. Solid state spectra for n = 0, 2, 4 are similar to those of solution due to small intermolecular interactions as revealed by combined X-ray and (TD)DFT analy…
mGluR2/3 agonist LY379268, by enhancing the production of GDNF, induces a time-related phosphorylation of RET receptor and intracellular signaling Er…
2011
In the present study we aimed to verify if the enhancement of glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor (GDNF) production in mouse striatum following treatment with LY379268 may also induce in the nigrostriatal system a time-related activation of RET receptor and its specific intracellular signaling. For this purpose, we have investigated the effects of LY379268 treatment on RET phosphorylation at the Tyr1062 and on downstream signaling Erk1/2, Akt and PLCγ1 pathway activation. The results showed that treatment with LY379268 (3 mg/kg) induces a significant increase of GDNF levels and time-related RET and Erk1/2 phosphorylation in the striatum. These increases were detected at 24 h and 48 …
One-pot, direct incorporation of [11C]CO2 into carbamates.
2009
Why beat about the bush? An operationally simple and mild reaction based on the direct fixation of (11)CO(2) with 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) has been developed for the synthesis of (11)C-labeled carbamates at 75 degrees C within 10 minutes in radiochemical yields above 70% (see scheme). This strategy should be immediately useful for the construction of new radiotracers for positron emission tomography and other applications.
Geochemical constraints on volatile sources and subsurface conditions at Mount Martin, Mount Mageik, and Trident Volcanoes, Katmai Volcanic Cluster, …
2017
Abstract We use the chemical and isotopic composition of volcanic gases and steam condensate, in situ measurements of plume composition and remote measurements of SO2 flux to constrain volatile sources and characterize subvolcanic conditions at three persistently degassing and seismically active volcanoes within the Katmai Volcanic Cluster (KVC), Alaska: Mount Martin, Mount Mageik and Trident. In situ plume measurements of gas composition were collected at all three volcanoes using MultiGAS instruments to calculate gas ratios (e.g. CO2/H2S, SO2/H2S and H2O/H2S), and remote measurements of SO2 column density were collected from Mount Martin and Mount Mageik by ultraviolet spectrometer system…
An analysis of co‐operative agreements from a knowledge‐based perspective: an integrative conceptual framework
2002
The last decade has been witness to an unprecedented growth in the number of alliances between companies. This growing importance of interfirm co‐operation, together with its inherent complexity, have generated a progressive interest in the study of this phenomenon, which has materialised in a vast but fragmented literature concerning it. As a response to the demands which these conditions pose, we have endeavoured to develop a conceptual framework which, from a knowledge‐based and learning perspective, integrates an extensive series of contributions and concepts for the study of the processes of co‐operation between companies. As distinctive features, our conceptual framework proposal sets…
Place Marketing and Management: A Complex Adaptive Systems View. The Strategic Planning of the City of Avellino, Italy
2016
The objective of this work is to contribute to place management and marketing studies by looking at the territory, as a complex adaptive system aiming to reach a dynamic equilibrium—a steady state. According to this approach, the territorial system emerges as a result of its capacity, its social actors and governance, and the analysis, creation and maintenance of relationships—the dynamics—between the territory components, both tangible and intangible ones, and its many and varied stakeholders. These relational dynamics produce continuous and reciprocal adaptive behaviours among social actors who determine, influence, and adapt the vision of the territory. Through an interdisciplinary appro…

Removal of failed crown and bridge
2011
Crown and bridge have life span of many years but they fail for a number of reasons. Over the years, many devices have been designed to remove crowns and bridges from abutment teeth. While the removal of temporary crowns and bridges is usually very straightforward, the removal of a definitive cast crown with unknown cement is more challenging. Removal is often by destructive means. There are a number of circumstances, however, in which conservative disassembly would aid the practitioner in completing restorative/endodontic procedures. There are different mechanisms available to remove a failed crown or bridge. But there is no information published about the classification of available syste…
