Orthoptera Tettigoniidae as indicators of biodiversity hotspots in the Guinean Forests of Central and West Tropical Africa

The present paper has two aims: 1) to present the results of the study of selected species of Orthoptera Tettigoniidae collected in the Guinean forests of West Africa and in the important hotspot of Dzanga-Ndoki National Park (Central African Republic); 2) to carry out a check-list of six subfamilies of Tettigoniidae (Pseudophyllinae, Conocephalinae, Hexacentrinae, Phaneropterinae, Mecopodinae and Hetrodinae) living in Central-West tropical Africa, in particular in two main tropical forests, in the subregion of upper Guinea, and in the subregion Nigeria-Cameroon plus the biodiversity hotspots of Central African Republic and Gabon. Abstract Objective: To compare two new generation antimuscarinics at their recommended doses for treatment of overactive bladder syndrome (OAB). Methods: A prospective, double blind, double-dummy, two-arm, parallel-group, 12-week study was conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of solifenacin 5 or 10mg and tolterodine extended release (ER) 4mg once daily in OAB patients. After 4 weeks of treatment patients had the option to request a dose increase but were dummied throughout as approved product labelling only allowed an increase for those on solifenacin. An observational study of patient satisfaction with fesoterodine in the treatment of overactive bladder: effects of additional educational material

Summary Aim To compare the effects of additional educational material on treatment satisfaction of overactive bladder (OAB) patients treated with a muscarinic receptor antagonist. Methods In an observational study of OAB patients being treated by their physician with fesoterodine for 4 months (FAKTEN study), sites were randomised to providing standard treatment or additional educational material including the SAGA tool. Novel tree-like WO3 nanoplatelets with very high surface area synthesized by anodization under controlled hydrodynamic conditions

In the present work, a new WO3 nanostructure has been obtained by anodization in a H2SO4/NaF electrolyte under controlled hydrodynamic conditions using a Rotating Disk Electrode (RDE) configuration. Anodized samples were analyzed by means of Field Emission Scanning Electronic Microscopy (FESEM), Confocal Raman Microscopy and photoelectrochemical measurements. The new nanostructure, which consists of nanoplatelets clusters growing in a tree-like manner, presents a very high surface area exposed to the electrolyte, leading to an outstanding enhancement of its photoelectrochemical activity. Numerical study of the transverse stability of the Peregrine solution

We generalise a previously published approach based on a multi-domain spectral method on the whole real line in two ways: firstly, a fully explicit 4th order method for the time integration, based on a splitting scheme and an implicit Runge--Kutta method for the linear part, is presented. Secondly, the 1D code is combined with a Fourier spectral method in the transverse variable both for elliptic and hyperbolic NLS equations. As an example we study the transverse stability of the Peregrine solution, an exact solution to the one dimensional nonlinear Schr\"odinger (NLS) equation and thus a $y$-independent solution to the 2D NLS. Formation of ZnO nanowires by anodization under hydrodynamic conditions for photoelectrochemical water splitting

[EN] The present work studies the influence of hydrodynamic conditions (from 0 to 5000 rpm) during Zn anodization process on the morphology, structure and photoelectrocatalytic behavior of ZnO nanostructures. For this purpose, analysis with Confocal Laser-Raman Spectroscopy, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (FE-SEM) and photoelectrochemical water splitting tests were performed. This investigation reveals that hydrodynamic conditions during anodization promoted the formation of ordered ZnO nanowires along the surface that greatly enhance its stability and increases the photocurrent density response for water splitting in a 159% at the 5000 rpm electrode rotation speed.

Many image processing techniques work with scattered data distribution usually employing grid based methods leading to numerical problems. To address this issue, a numerical method avoiding mesh generation can be used.
