Tutkimuksen tehtävänä on tarkastella, millaisena adoptiojärjestelynä avoin adoptio näyttäytyy kansainvälisessä tutkimuksessa. Tutkimuksessa keskitytään kuvaamaan, minkälainen adoptiojärjestely avoin adoptio on, ja minkälaista on olla mukana avoimessa adoptiossa adoptiovanhempien ja –lapsen sekä biologisen perheen näkökulmasta. Heavy-Ion-Induced Defects in Degraded SiC Power MOSFETs

Cathodoluminescence spectroscopy is used to investigate the formation of point- and extended defects in SiC power MOSFETs exposed to heavy-ions. Devices showing single event leakage current (SELC) effects are analysed and compared to pristine samples. Common luminescence peaks of defect centers localized in the thermal-SiO2 are identified, together with peaks at the characteristic wavelength of extended defects.
Anomaly detection approach to keystroke dynamics based user authentication

Keystroke dynamics is one of the authentication mechanisms which uses natural typing pattern of a user for identification. In this work, we introduced Dependence Clustering based approach to user authentication using keystroke dynamics. In addition, we applied a k-NN-based approach that demonstrated strong results. Most of the existing approaches use only genuine users data for training and validation. We designed a cross validation procedure with artificially generated impostor samples that improves the learning process yet allows fair comparison to previous works. Shape Sensitivity Analysis and Gradient-Based Optimization of Large Structures Using MLFMA

A fast method for computing the action of shape-differentiated electric field integral equation (EFIE) system matrix to a vector is derived exploiting the multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA). The proposed method is used in conjunction with the adjoint-variable method (AVM) to compute the shape gradient of arbitrary objective functions depending on shape of a metallic scatterer. The method is demonstrated numerically by optimizing the shape of a parabolic reflector illuminated with a half-wave dipole.
Cross-Domain Recommendations with Overlapping Items

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in cross-domain recommender systems. However, most existing works focus on the situation when only users or users and items overlap in different domains. In this paper, we investigate whether the source domain can boost the recommendation performance in the target domain when only items overlap. Due to the lack of publicly available datasets, we collect a dataset from two domains related to music, involving both the users’ rating scores and the description of the items. Open Resources as the Educational Basis for a Bachelor-level Project-Based Course

This article presents an innovation-based course concept for project-based learning. In this course, student groups are asked to ideate and implement a software product based on Open Data and Open API releases. By emphasizing studentsâ own product ideation, the course requires and enhances self-directed learning skills and prompts the students to see the unlimited possibilities in becoming and being a practitioner of the computing discipline. Relatedly, the course provides a tool to improve student self-efficacy, as the students, coached through challenges, come to know that they are able to produce software using various open interfaces.
