ON SYLOW NORMALIZERS OF FINITE GROUPS

[EN] The paper considers the influence of Sylow normalizers, i.e. normalizers of Sylow subgroups, on the structure of finite groups. In the universe of finite soluble groups it is known that classes of groups with nilpotent Hall subgroups for given sets of primes are exactly the subgroup- closed saturated formations satisfying the following property: a group belongs to the class if and only if its Sylow normalizers do so. The paper analyzes the extension of this research to the universe of all finite groups.

Many instruments of the Historical Collection of the Physics Instruments of the University of Palermo date back to the early nineteenth century, when experimental Physics begun to be taught in university studies by using instruments and apparatuses in the classroom to illustrate the laws of Physics. Among the various instruments belonging to the Collection, there are also the so-called 'paradoxes', instruments with surprising properties that do not seem to follow the laws of Physics. In this article we analyze two 'mechanical paradoxes' of the Collection and discuss their possible educational use.

The activity and pedagogical vievs of women at the turn the 19 th and 20 th centuries - historical experiences for the contemoprary times

Although women have contributed to the development of science from the earliest times, their participation has not always been noticed. The breakthrough in the career path of women was World War I, in the consequence of which women gained the possibility of studying at universities and pursuing the academic activity. The presented article is an attempt at bringing to light the memory of the women-pioneers and their scientific acdvity in the field of Polish pedagogy at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.
Contribuciones de una intervención didáctica usando cuestiones sociocientíficas para desarrollar el pensamiento crítico

El propósito de este estudio es presentar el impacto de una intervención usando cuestiones sociocientíficas para desarrollar el pensamiento crítico en estudiantes universitarios. Se hizo un estudio cuasiexperimental pretest-postest con 56 estudiantes durante 16 semanas. La información del pretest y postest fue valorada desde un análisis cualitativo y cuantitativo del contenido, que permite comparar el tipo de respuestas de los participantes una vez finalizada la intervención. En este artículo se analiza la percepción pública de seis importantes divulgadores españoles de la ciencia. Para ello se ha realizado una encuesta entre los profesionales de la difusión de la ciencia, y a través de diferentes bloques de preguntas se ha buscado conocer su opinión sobre la tarea de divulgación llevada a cabo por Eduard Punset, Juan Luis Arsuaga, Manuel Toharia, Jorge Wagensberg, Ramon Folch y Javier Sampedro.
