Self-regulated learning and formative assessment process on group work

This study aimed to design and implement a formative assessment context for a group assignment. This setting is based on self-regulated learning, the beneficial practices exposed in the literature and the challenges for the next decade. We carried out quantitative research using two questionnaires to measure self-regulated learning skills and the way of working as a group. The participants were 88 students getting a degree in Sports Sciences. Results showed that the reported way of working in groups has no impact on performance. Furthermore, higher self-regulation in their learning style and the use of assessment criteria led to higher performance. We did not find any differences regarding …

Object Surgery in the cerebellopontine angle (CPA) is a standard procedure at many centers. Outcome is focused mainly on preservation of hearing and facial function postoperatively. The nonmotor part of the facial nerve, the intermediate nerve, is nearly neglected nowadays. Methods A retrospective study was designed, including a questionnaire that was sent to 178 patients who had undergone surgery between 2000 and 2004. Data were obtained in 156 cases. During 2009/2010, the current research was conducted with the aim of analysing student and teaching staff on regarding student participation in assessment. A content analysis of 76 subject outlines was carried out, and then 40 member of the teaching staff and 614 university students were surveyed. This study evaluated the brain activation state during error making in youth with mild spastic cerebral palsy and a peer control group while carrying out a stimulus recognition task. The key question was whether patients were detecting their own errors and subsequently improving their performance in a future trial. Findings indicated that error responses of the group with cerebral palsy were associated with weak motor preparation, as indexed by the amplitude of the late contingent negative variation. The aim of this study was to examine the effects of physical activity and the possible mediating role of perceived physical self-efficacy (PPSE) on self-rated health (SRH) in the 55- to 89-year-old Dutch population.
