Migration Reactivities of σ-Bonded Ligands of Organoiron and Organocobalt Porphyrins Depending on Different High Oxidation States
1999
Migration reactivities of sigma-bonded organo-iron and -cobalt porphyrins were examined as a function of the compound oxidation state. Migration rates were determined for both the one-electron and two-electron oxidized species produced in the electron-transfer oxidation with different oxidants in acetonitrile at 298 K. The investigated compounds are represented as [(OETPP)Fe(R)](n)()(+), where n = 1 or 2, OETPP = the dianion of 2,3,7,8,12,13,17,18-octaethyl-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin, and R = C(6)H(5), 3,5-C(6)F(2)H(3), or C(6)F(5), and as [(TPP)Co(R)](n)()(+), where n = 1 or 2, TPP = the dianion of 5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin, and R = CH(3) or C(6)H(5). The rapid two-electron oxid…
Searches for B0 decays to combinations of charmless isoscalar mesons
2004
We search for B meson decays into two-body combinations of eta, eta', omega, and phi mesons from 89 million B B-bar pairs collected with the BaBar detector at the PEP-II asymmetric-energy e+e- collider at SLAC. We find the branching fraction BF(B0 -> eta omega) = (4.0^{+1.3}_{-1.2} +- 0.4) x 10^-6 with a significance of 4.3 sigma. For all the other decay modes we set the following 90% confidence level upper limits on the branching fractions, in units of 10^-6 : BF(B0 -> eta eta)<2.8, BF(B0 -> eta eta')<4.6, BF(B0 -> eta' eta')<10, BF(B0 -> eta'omega)<2.8, BF(B0 -> eta phi)<1.0, BF(B0 -> eta' phi)<4.5, BF(B0 -> phi phi)<1.5.

2017
The number of the observed events $N_\rm{obs.}$, efficiencies $\epsilon$, $\alpha$ values, and branching fractions ${\cal B}$ for $\psi\rightarrow\Xi^{-}\bar\Xi^{+}$, $\Sigma(1385)^{\mp}\bar\Sigma(1385)^{\pm}$. Only statistical uncertainties are indicated.
A Study on Different Approaches of Six-Sigma and Knowledge Management Integrated Models to Identify the Leveraging Effects
2014
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to review the different models which integrate Six Sigma and Knowledge Management (KM) approaches and also to identify the advantages and disadvantages of those models. Based on literature, the available Six Sigma and KM models have been reviewed. All the models have been critically analysed according to their structure and end users and finally the advantages and disadvantages are enlisted. The Overview expressed that more or less every model has been proposed aiming to the specific endues and each model has both strength and weakness for application to all sectors. In this article, the advantages and disadvantages of existing Six Sigma-KM models have …
KPD: An Investigation into the Usability of Knowledge Portal in DMAIC Knowledge Management
2016
Knowledge is considered as a resource that contributes an important role in the success of Six Sigma DMAIC methodology. However, knowledge resides brain of the individuals and exists in various forms and different places. This rise the problem of how to collect and share DMAIC knowledge everywhere all time. In this paper, we introduce a proposed Knowledge Portal named KPD that had been designed as a tool to manage DMAIC knowledge. Through the deployment of the Knowledge Portal, this paper aims at investigating its impacts on DMAIC execution based on experiments and appreciation of experts who are working in the areas of quality management and information technology. The results of the surve…

From $1$ to $6$: a finer analysis of perturbed branching Brownian motion
2020
The logarithmic correction for the order of the maximum for two-speed branching Brownian motion changes discontinuously when approaching slopes $\sigma_1^2=\sigma_2^2=1$ which corresponds to standard branching Brownian motion. In this article we study this transition more closely by choosing $\sigma_1^2=1\pm t^{-\alpha}$ and $\sigma_2^2=1\pm t^{-\alpha}$. We show that the logarithmic correction for the order of the maximum now smoothly interpolates between the correction in the iid case $\frac{1}{2\sqrt 2}\ln(t),\;\frac{3}{2\sqrt 2}\ln(t)$ and $\frac{6}{2\sqrt 2}\ln(t)$ when $0<\alpha<\frac{1}{2}$. This is due to the localisation of extremal particles at the time of speed change which depen…
The cognition‐enhancing activity of E1R , a novel positive allosteric modulator of sigma‐1 receptors
2013
Background and Purpose Here, we describe the in vitro and in vivo effects of (4R,5S)-2-(5-methyl-2-oxo-4-phenyl-pyrrolidin-1-yl)-acetamide (E1R), a novel positive allosteric modulator of sigma-1 receptors. Experimental Approach E1R was tested for sigma receptor binding activity in a [3H](+)-pentazocine assay, in bradykinin (BK)-induced intracellular Ca2+ concentration ([Ca2+]i) assays and in an electrically stimulated rat vas deferens model. E1R's effects on cognitive function were tested using passive avoidance (PA) and Y-maze tests in mice. A selective sigma-1 receptor antagonist (NE-100), was used to study the involvement of the sigma-1 receptor in the effects of E1R. The open-field test…
Extending an example by Colding and Minicozzi
2018
Extending an example by Colding and Minicozzi, we construct a sequence of properly embedded minimal disks $\Sigma_i$ in an infinite Euclidean cylinder around the $x_3$-axis with curvature blow-up at a single point. The sequence converges to a non smooth and non proper minimal lamination in the cylinder. Moreover, we show that the disks $\Sigma_i$ are not properly embedded in a sequence of open subsets of $\mathbb{ R}^3$ that exhausts $\mathbb{ R}^3$.
