Kampania wielkopolska i kujawska Chryzostoma Jana Niemiry Gniazdowskiego

2020

Arcadio Blasco: : Cinco esculturas urbanas (1986-1991)

2013

Design, Synthesis, and Biological Evaluation of Novel Fluorinated Ethanolamines

2011

The preparation of novel fluorinated allylamines and their use as key fragments for the stereoselective synthesis of hydroxyethyl secondary amine (HEA)-type peptidomimetics is described. Our strategy employs chiral sulfinyl imines as synthesis intermediates, by treatment of hemiaminal precursors with two equivalents of vinylmagnesium bromide. The subsequent oxidation of the allylic amines to the corresponding epoxides was achieved by treatment with methyl(trifluoromethyl)dioxirane. Finally, epoxide ring opening with a range of nitrogen nucleophiles provided a library of HEA-derived peptidomimetics with a phenyldifluoromethylene moiety. The biological evaluation of these derivatives revealed…

Plasmonic effects of ultra-thin Mo films on hydrogenated amorphous Si photovoltaic cells

2012

We report on the improvement of short circuit current (JSC), fill factor (FF), and open circuit resistance (ROC) in hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) photovoltaic cells with a p-type/intrinsic/n-type structure, achieved by the addition of an ultra-thin molybdenum film between the p-type film and the transparent conductive oxide/glass substrate. For suitable conditions, improvements of ≈10% in average internal quantum efficiency and up to 5%–10% under standard illumination in JSC, FF, and ROC are observed. These are attributed to the excitation of surface plasmon polariton modes of the a-Si:H/Mo interface.

Plasmonic modes in molybdenum ultra-thin films suitable for hydrogenated amorphous silicon thin film solar cells

2014

We have recently demonstrated that molybdenum ultra-thin films interposed between hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) and SnO2:F transparent conductive oxide (TCO) in thin film solar cells show light trapping effects which enhance the solar cells performances. The effect of this improvement may be attributed to surface plasmon polariton (SPP) modes excited at the molybdenum interface by the solar radiation. In this paper we show direct evidence of such SPP modes in the case of the molybdenum/air interface by using the attenuated total reflection (ATR) technique, pioneered by Kretschmann, and we evaluate the dielectric constant of molybdenum at 660 nm. Identification of a specific type of PD from acoustic emission frequency spectra

2001

The paper presents an attempt to apply spectral analysis tools in processing acoustic emission (AE) pulses generated by partial discharge (FD). The experimental part of the paper describes spark gaps generating four types of PD and specifies parameters of measured acoustic signals and recalls the system used for measurement and analysis of the frequency spectra. Also, a spectral analysis procedure is presented, and frequency-domain descriptors characterizing AE pulses are defined. The results of the analysis are given both as time plots and amplitude and energy density spectra, related to values of the associated descriptors. The spectral analysis results cover AE pulses generated in system…

Transport of C(4)-dicarboxylates in Wolinella succinogenes.

2000

ABSTRACT C 4 -dicarboxylate transport is a prerequisite for anaerobic respiration with fumarate in Wolinella succinogenes , since the substrate site of fumarate reductase is oriented towards the cytoplasmic side of the membrane. W. succinogenes was found to transport C 4 -dicarboxylates (fumarate, succinate, malate, and aspartate) across the cytoplasmic membrane by antiport and uniport mechanisms. The electrogenic uniport resulted in dicarboxylate accumulation driven by anaerobic respiration. The molar ratio of internal to external dicarboxylate concentration was up to 10 3 . The dicarboxylate antiport was either electrogenic or electroneutral. The electroneutral antiport required the prese…

Experimental alteration of granitic rocks: Implications for the evolution of geothermal brines in the Upper Rhine Graben, Germany

2020

Abstract Geothermal energy exploitation in the Upper Rhine Graben (URG) chiefly has targeted faults and fractures within or connected with the crystalline basement, where hot fluids of c. 200 °C circulate at depths of c. 5 km. Formation fluids of the crystalline basement are highly saline, NaCl-dominated brines, whereas shallow crystalline basement water ( The trace element concentrations of the leachates are hereby related to the composition and stability of minerals in the rocks and can be directly linked to the proposed and observed dissolution processes at the different temperatures. In experiments with pure water at 70 °C, representing the recharge or infiltration conditions, water-roc…

RETRACTED ARTICLE: Hemodynamics, intra-mucosal pH and regulators of circulation during perioperative epidural analgesia

2000
