STUDIO DI UN AMMORTIZZATORE ELETTROMAGNETICO A RECUPERO DI ENERGIA
2013
An Intelligent Car Driver for safe Navigation with Fuzzy Obstacle Avoidance.
2009
In order to respond effectively to the environment uncertainties, autonomous vehicles are generally equipped with sensors. The proposed car guidance system is equipped with an intelligent controller, based on fuzzy logic, which calculates the speed and wheels orientation in order to follow a path while it is avoiding unknown obstacles. Better fluidity of driving are obtained using future-path, car dimension and car position prevision. Vehicle symmetries also speed-up and simplify the guidance system reducing the inputs and the rules numbers.
A possible approach to the development of robotic multi-agent systems
2004
The design of a an agent system for robotics is a problem that involves aspects coming from many different disciplines (robotics, artificial intelligence, computer vision, software engineering). The most difficult part of it, often consists in producing and tuning the algorithms that incorporates the robot behavior (planning, obstacle avoidance,. . . ) and abilities (vision, manipulation, navigation,. . . ). Frequently, the reuse of these parts is left to a copy and paste procedure from previous applications to the new one. In so doing many problems could arise. We propose a comprehensive approach for multi-agent systems oriented to robotics applications that uses a complete design methodol…
A MOBILE ROBOT FOR TRANSPORT APPLICATIONS IN HOSPITAL DOMAIN WITH SAFE HUMAN DETECTION ALGORITHM
2009
We have been developing a MKR (Muratec Keio Robot), an autonomous omni-directional mobile transfer robot system for hospital applications. This robot has a wagon truck to transfer luggage, important specimens and other materials. This study proposes a safe obstacle collision avoidance technique that includes a human detection algorithm for omni directional mobile robots that realizes a safe movement technology. The robot can distinguish people from others obstacles with human detection algorithm. The robot evades to people more safely by considering its relative position and velocity with respect to them. Some experiments in a hospital were carried out to verify the performance of the human…
Centralità mediterranea della Palermo imperiale e tardoantica (secoli I-IV). Scenari sociopolitici
2020
Through the discussion of sources and analysis of data and material culture, the consideration of social facts with their complex interactions, I want to make a picture of the Roman Panhormus of the imperial age, with its municipal administrators, its senators, its curials, its people; a city that could enjoy theatrical performances, gladiators and venationes thanks to the prosperity manifested by the richness of the mosaics, imbued with that pagan religion, well rooted and still persisting at least until the fourth century.
Origin of asymmetries in X-ray emission lines from the blast wave of the 2014 outburst of nova V745 Sco
2016
The symbiotic nova V745 Sco was observed in outburst on 2014 February 6. Its observations by the Chandra X-ray Observatory at days 16 and 17 have revealed a spectrum characterized by asymmetric and blue-shifted emission lines. Here we investigate the origin of these asymmetries through three-dimensional hydrodynamic simulations describing the outburst during the first 20 days of evolution. The model takes into account thermal conduction and radiative cooling and assumes a blast wave propagates through an equatorial density enhancement. From the simulations, we synthesize the X-ray emission and derive the spectra as they would be observed with Chandra. We find that both the blast wave and th…
Oxygen uptake, heart rate and blood lactate levels in female horseback riders during the obstacle test track
2020
The purpose of this study was to examine endurance performance by recording oxygen uptake, heart rate and blood lactate during the obstacle test track, equivalent to competitive performance in female horseback riders. In total 42 female riders participated in the study (show jumping, SJ n = 16, eventing, E n = 26). Age, height and weight of the total group were 29.0(9.2) yrs, 1.68(0.06) m, and 68.1(10.3) kg, respectively. Participants rode a minimum of 4 times per/week, and the riding level was from national to international. VO2peak/VO2mean and HRpeak/HRmean of the total group during the obstacle test track (OTT) were 34.4(5.0)/26.4(4.0) ml/kg/min and 184.4(9.6)/178.1(10.2) bpm. BLa concen…
Penalty Function Methods for the Numerical Solution of Nonlinear Obstacle Problems with Finite Elements
2008
A class of penalty function methods for the solution of nonlinear variational inequalities with obstacles ⩽ 0 fur alle v ⩾ ψ in the Sobolev space W1, p (ω) is studied. The (nonlinear) penalty equations are solved by finite element techniques; the order of convergence of this procedure which depends on the regularity of the solution as well as on the finite elements used is investigated.
2000
The superstar phenomenon describes a situation wherein few artists dominate the activity in which they engage and earn significant amounts of money. Most of models, trying to explain this phenomenon, take place clearly on the product market where artists provide ultimate and consumers. We adopt here a different approach by taking place on the labour market regrouping artists (whose the services are production factors) and employers (the producers of cultural products) and we demonstrate that die strategies, consisting in minimizing search costs under contraint of quality maximisation, can work towards explaining the emergence of a very unequal distribution of artistic incomes. In order to m…
