Architectural Scenes Reconstruction from Uncalibrated Photos and Map Based Model Knowledge
2001
In this paper we consider the problem of reconstructing architectural scenes from multiple photographs taken from arbitrarily viewpoints. The original contribution of this work is the use of a map as a source of a priori knowledge and geometric constraints in order to obtain in a fast and simple way a detailed model of a scene. We suppose images are uncalibrated and have at least one planar structure as a facade for exploiting the planar homography induced between world plane and image to calculate a first estimation of the projection matrix. Estimations are improved by using correspondences between images and map. We show how these simple constraints can be used to calibrate the cameras, t…
Forage production, N uptake, N2 fixation, and N recovery of berseem clover grown in pure stand and in mixture with annual ryegrass under different ma…
2011
In Mediterranean countries, forage grasses and legumes are commonly grown in mixture because of their ability to increase herbage yield and quality compared with monocrop systems. However, the benefits of intercropping over a monocrop system are not always realized because the efficiency of a grass–legume mixture is strongly affected by agronomic factors. The present study evaluated productivity, N2 fixation, N transfer, and N recovery of berseem clover (Trifolium alexandrinum) grown in pure stand and in mixture with annual ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum) under high or low defoliation frequencies and varying plant arrangements (sowing in the same row or in alternating rows). On average, the b…
Isolation and purification of plasmids from Bacteroides fragilis using rubidium trichloroacetate density gradient centrifugation.
1983
A rapid and easy final purification method is described for the isolation of plasmids from B. fragilis. Using RbTCA density gradient centrifugation in an airfuge ultracentrifuge ccc plasmid DNA can be separated from RNA, residual chromosomal DNA, linear and oc plasmid DNA. Pure ccc plasmid DNA is obtained from cultures of between 1 ml and 2 l in less than one day.
In situ remediation of polluted Spolic Technosols using Ca(OH)2 and smectitic marlstone
2014
Technosols are soils developed on non-traditional substrates and containing large quantities of materials mostly due to intensive human industrial activity, such as artefacts. The increasing number of sites affected by Technosols and their impact on the environment as growing media for plants or as source of pollutants require an understanding of their functioning and evolution, above all the knowledge on the transport of toxic substances from contaminated technogenic soils to groundwater. A case study on properties, remediation and evaluation of Technosols made up by vitrified fly ash and glass–ceramics in Italy was carried out. Original technogenic soils, classified as Spolic Technosols (…
Synthesis and characterization of optically active 2,4-disubstituted-2-oxazolines and their polymerization
1994
Four different optically active 2,4-disubstituted-2-oxazolines were synthesized and characterized. Cationic polymerization of these oxazolines were studied. Three of the oxazolines could be polymerized using methyl trifluoromethanesulfonate as initiator. S-(–)-2-Phenyl-4-isopropyl-2-oxazoline could not be polymerized under the conditions used.
Poly(THF-co-cyano ethylene oxide): Cyano Ethylene Oxide (CEO) Copolymerization with THF Leading to Multifunctional and Water-Soluble PolyTHF Polyelec…
2016
Cyano-functional polyether copolymers based on THF were prepared via cationic ring-opening copolymerization of THF with cyano ethylene oxide (CEO). The CEO content of poly(tetrahydrofuran) (polyTHF) based copolymers varied from 3.3 to 29.3%, and molecular weights ranged from 5100 to 31900 g·mol–1 with Mw/Mn in the range of 1.31 to 1.74 (SEC in THF, PS standards). The polymerization was conducted with methyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (MeOTf) as an initiator. Kinetic studies concerning incorporation of both monomers were performed via NMR spectroscopy. The cyano groups at the poly(THF-co-CEO) copolymers enable direct access to amino (polyTHF–NH2) and carboxyl groups (polyTHF–COOH) in facile o…
Attachment of Marine Sponge Cells of Hymeniacidon perleve on Microcarriers
2003
Toward the development of an in vitro cultivation of marine sponge cells for sustainable production of bioactive metabolites, the attachment characteristics of marine sponge cells of Hymeniacidon perleve on three types of microcarriers, Hillex, Cytodex 3, and glass beads, were studied. Mixed cell population and enriched cell fractions of specific cell types by Ficoll gradient centrifugation (6%/8%/15%/20%) were also assessed. Cell attachment ratio (defined as the ratio of cells attached on microcarrier to the total number of cells in the culture) on glass beads is much higher than that on Cytodex 3 and Hillex for both mixed cell population and cell fraction at Ficoll 15-20% interface. The h…
l-Glutamate receptor binding in bovine retina
1982
Using a centrifugation technique saturable specific [ 3 H]glutamate binding in bovine retina could be demonstrated. Scatchard analysis revealed only one population of binding sites with a dissociation constant of about 3 μ m and a maximal number of binding sites of about 0·2 pmol/mg retinal protein. Several glutamic acid analogues inhibit specific [ 3 H]glutamate binding in bovine retina with half-maximal inhibitory concentrations similar to those reported in other areas of the CNS. Specific [ 3 H]glutamate binding and sodium dependent synaptosomal uptake of glutamate are largely concentrated in the P2 fraction of bovine retina homogenates consisting of conventionally sized synaptosomes. Th…
A Review of Nanogrid Technologies for Forming Reliable Residential Grid
2020
Nanogrid is a scale down version of Microgrid. Nanogrid (NG) forms the residential grid with the sources like solar PV, diesel generator, fuel cell and battery based energy storage as a backup for supporting autonomous operation of NG. This paper is focused on portraying the importance of NG for rural electrification of India. The source-load coordination in the NG will ensure the optimal power flow in the grid. This paper has reviewed two most important control techniques i.e. centralized and decentralized for ensuring source-load coordination in the NG. Interfacing converters are the important constituents of NG to dispatch the power from intermittent renewable energy sources to load. Dep…
