Comportamentos de suporte e eficácia grupal: o papel mediador dos comportamentos de aprendizagem

2018

Dissertação de Mestrado em Psicologia do Trabalho, das Organizações e dos Recursos Humanos apresentada à Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação Supportive behaviours, defined “as the extent to which team members voluntarily provide assistance to each other when needed during task accomplishment” (Aubé & Rousseau, 2005, p.193), constitute a determinant of Team Effectiveness (Dimas, Rocha, Rebelo, & Lourenço, 2016). The current research aims to clarify further the relationship between Supportive Behaviours and Team Effectiveness criteria, mediated by Team Learning Behaviours. Based on the model of effectiveness Input-Mediator-Outcome-Input (IMOI) from Kozlowski and Ilgen (2006), th…

Samarbeid i hjertestansteam : en kvalitativ studie om intensivsyke- pleieres erfaringer fra samarbeid i hjertestansteam under resuscitering

2014

Masteroppgave i spesialsykepleie – Universitetet i Agder 2014 Project backround: Several areas in health care have recently seen an increased focus on the importance of cooperation. In its guidelines from 2010, The American Heart Association (AHA) places increased importance on non-technical skills in the training of personnel who perform advanced cardiac life support (ACLS). The Better And Systematic Team Foundation (BEST), have in recent years contributed to a growing focus on cooperation in trauma teams. However, in Norway, there is little research directly linked to the issue of cooperation in Norwegian cardiac arrest teams. Aim:The aim of this study is to gain knowledge about the exper…

Naturally occurring data in the study of virtual teams in working life – Challenges and opportunities

2014

Previous research on virtual teamwork heavily relies on experiments conducted in laboratory settings, frequently utilizing zero-history university student groups, and drawing conclusions with regard to working life. While such studies can give some preliminary insights into the characteristics of distributed teamwork, they lack a methodological ingredient which is too often neglected in research on human interaction: authenticity. Such findings, consequently, are not easily applicable to what people do in real work life contexts. Earlier pleas to focus more on what is going on outside the laboratory, however, have been widely disregarded. This article takes a stand for including more natura…

Investigating face-to-face and virtual teamwork over time: When does early task conflict trigger relationship conflict?

2012

North Carolina State UniversityPast research has indicated that early task consict can trigger subsequent relationshipconsict during teamwork. The current study examines conditions that may exacerbateor attenuate this relationship. SpeciÞcally, this study examines the moderating role ofprocess consict and communication medium on the link between task consict andrelationship consict over time. A longitudinal laboratory experiment was carried outcomparing 22 face-to-face (FTF) groups, 22 videoconference (VC) groups, and 22synchronous computer mediated (i.e., OchatO) communication (CMC) groups workingon a complex team task over a period of 1 month. Results highlight the robust insuenceof early…

Wykorzystanie platformy MS Teams w nauczaniu przedmiotów humanistycznych

2021

The presented chapter describes experience of working with students on the MS Teams platform. There is described the outbreak of the epidemic in which all participants of the educational process found themselves as a complete novelty, which forced everyone to seek a way out of the impasse and find themselves in a different educational reality. Then, there is presented the specificity of particular classes conducted on the MS Teams platform, indicating the methods of work which were used, adjusting them to the capabilities, interests, level of language proficiency, and even the size of particular groups. In the next subchapter there are discussed the benefits and risks of online teaching, wh…

Reducing Relationship Conflict in Virtual Teams With Diversity Faultlines: The Effect of an Online Affect Management Intervention on the Rate of Grow…

2020

The aim of this study was to analyze the effect of an online affect management intervention on relationship conflict through the rate of growth of team resilience in virtual teams with diversity faultlines. Fifty-two 4-person teams participated in a randomized controlled trial design with repeated measures (i.e., three measurement occasions). Teams were randomly assigned to either an intervention designed to help them manage emotions in virtual teams or a control condition. Our findings showed that affect management can reduce the level of relationship conflict in virtual teams with diversity faultlines and that this effect can be explained by the pattern of change in team resilience in re…

Presence and Absence in Global Virtual Team Meetings : Physical, Virtual, and Social Dimensions

2016

Global virtual work is commonly organised around virtual meetings. As virtual team members often belong to multiple groups in their work, finding time for global team meetings may be challenging due to competing priorities and roles as well as different time zones and schedules. Furthermore, social presence does not automatically emerge based on physical or virtual presence. Therefore, the notions of being physically, virtually and socially present or absent in global team meetings are important, and affect the collaboration of global work groups. These different dimensions of presence and absence and their nature as fluctuating phenomena have not yet been scrutinised in virtual work litera…

Key challenges of new and small virtual team

2007

The purpose of this thesis is to study the factors must be noticed when building a new and small virtual team. These virtual teams are groups of people who work together without the boundaries of time or space using technology (Lipnack & Stamps 2000, 18). The main goal is to study in detail some of the common challenges faced when working with the small virtual teams, especially in the early stages of team development. With this study and the results of it, the reader is aware of the challenges of virtual teams and the differences and similarities between traditional and virtual teams. In addition the reader knows also some factors that must be noticed when a new small virtual team is suppo…

Knowledge creation. The ongoing search for strategic renewal

2014

Purpose– The purpose of this paper is to analyse how changes in a set of structural design variables (i.e. liaison position, networked design, innovation teams and work teams) affect the creation of new knowledge within organizations. The enablers intention, autonomy, fluctuation and creative chaos, redundancy, variety, and trust and commitment, taken from Nonaka's framework, are used as intermediate variables.Design/methodology/approach– A sample of 167 large Spanish companies was used to empirically test a general relational model.Findings– The analysis yielded two main conclusions. First, the relationship between structural variables and enablers, and, second, the relationship of enabler…
