Esta investigación analiza las imágenes relacionadas con las actividades físicas que aparecen en los libros de texto de educación física (EF), concretamente en el tercer ciclo de la etapa de educación primaria (EP) y su correspondencia con los bloques de contenido de dicho currículo. La muestra está formada por 821 imágenes publicadas en cuatro editoriales españolas, a partir de la LOE. The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child explicitly recognizes that children are entitled to the full range of civil, cultural, economic, political and social rights. Despite the powerful social function of textbooks in legitimizing cultural norms in primary and secondary education, there has been little attention on human rights issues in early childhood education (ECE) curricular materials. El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la representación de la actividad física que aparece en los libros de texto de Educación Física y su relación con los diferentes bloques de contenidos del área, en Educación Primaria. La muestra estuvo formada por un total de 3836 imágenes publicadas en 34 libros de texto pertenecientes a seis editoriales españolas, entre 2006 y 2013. La técnica de investigación fue el análisis de contenido mediante la herramienta SAIMEF. Para el análisis estadístico se utilizó el software SPSS 22.0. Towards a characterization of explanations in mathematics textbooks

This work is part of a broader study which aims to examine the relation between explanation and proof in teachers’ practices and the way in which this relation emerges from the texts in the mathematics schoolbooks. Our hypothesis is that explanation and proof share some of their characterizing parameters and this makes possible an overlapping of meaning which favors a switch of roles during teaching/learning activities. First results from textbooks analysis are presented pointing out remarkable features of explanation arisen to date.

The Unification of Italy represented a political, educational and mathematical turning point; leading researchers worked to raise both the mathematical and political standard in Italy through their active role in the reform of the Italian educational system at the secondary as well as at the university levels.
