La complicación más frecuente de la amigdalectomía extracapsular (AE) es la hemorragia postamigdalectomía (HPA). Huit objets de cuivre et de bronze du piémont pyrénéen oriental : analyse croisée typologique et métallique

Cet article porte sur huit pièces à base de cuivre – deux haches plates et six poignards – provenant de la zone sous-pyrénéenne orientale (Corbières, Haute Vallée de l’Aude, Pays d’OImes), dans les départements de l’Aude et de l’Ariège de l’Est (région de Lavelanet). Elles sont décrites et replacées dans leur contexte typochronologique, alors que les aspects technoéconomiques sont envisagés via la composition métallique (composition élémentaire et rapports isotopiques du plomb). Cinq objets en cuivre – deux haches et trois poignards – sont attribués au Chalcolithique. Questo articolo, prendendo l’avvio dalle suggestioni offerte dal pamphlhet History Manifesto di Jo Guldi e David Armitage, analizza la storia come fenomeno educativo. Dopo avere esaminato le due sfide educative del presentismo e del passatismo come espressione dell’eccesso di tempo che contraddistingue la surmodernità, viene ribadita la valenza educativa della storia. In particolare, la memoria storica, interpretata alla luce del paradigma elaborato dalla ricerca storico-educativa e dei programmi scolastici presentati nel corso del Novecento in Italia, rivela tutta la sua efficacia educativa in quanto ricostruzione di molteplici e diversificate memorie. Questo articolo, prendendo l’avvio dalle suggestioni offerte dal recente pamphlet "History Manifesto" (2015) analizza la storia come fenomeno educativo. Confrontandosi con il presentismo attuale e con i nuovi orientamenti della storiografia, la memoria viene interpretata con un approccio storico che si sofferma criticamente da un lato sui programmi scolastici, dall’altro sul nuovo paradigma elaborato dalla ricerca storico-educativa nel corso del Novecento in Italia. L’attività di ricerca in corso riguarda la possibilità di ricavare dati clinicamente significativi dai segnali ottici PPG (PhotoPletysmoGraphy). Il segnale PPG viene utilizzato per ricavare informazioni sul volume e sulla saturazione del sangue che interessa il distretto illuminato dalla luce IR (infrarosso) usata per l’analisi. Il volume di sangue contenuto nel segmento di arteria esaminato dipende dalla pressione e dal ciclo cardiaco, attraverso la rigidità dell’arteria.

Termiski nepietiekoši apstrādātas meža cūkas gaļas lietošana uzturā ir potenciāls Toxoplasma gondii invāzijas avots cilvēkiem. Zināšanas par T. gondii izplatību un sastopamību meža cūkās, dod iespēju apzināt riskus cilvēku veselībai un izstrādāt profilakses pasākumus stratēģijas. Pētījuma mērķis bija noteikt T. gondii sastopamību meža cūkās Latvijā un sakarības ciešumu starp T. gondii DNS un specifisko pret-T. gondii IgG antivielu klātbūtni meža cūkās. We extend the classical Carath\'eodory extension theorem to quasiconformal Jordan domains $( Y, d_{Y} )$. We say that a metric space $( Y, d_{Y} )$ is a quasiconformal Jordan domain if the completion $\overline{Y}$ of $( Y, d_{Y} )$ has finite Hausdorff $2$-measure, the boundary $\partial Y = \overline{Y} \setminus Y$ is homeomorphic to $\mathbb{S}^{1}$, and there exists a homeomorphism $\phi \colon \mathbb{D} \rightarrow ( Y, d_{Y} )$ that is quasiconformal in the geometric sense. We show that $\phi$ has a continuous, monotone, and surjective extension $\Phi \colon \overline{ \mathbb{D} } \rightarrow \overline{ Y }$. This result is best possible in this generality. Background Adding cyclic short sustained inflations (sigh) to assisted ventilation yields optimizes lung recruitment, decreases heterogeneity and reduces inspiratory effort in patients with acute hypoxemic respiratory failure (AHRF). These findings suggest that adding sigh to pressure support ventilation (PSV) might decrease the risk of lung injury, shorten weaning and improve clinical outcomes. Thus, we conceived a pilot trial to test the feasibility of adding sigh to PSV (the PROTECTION study). Linear Types for Higher Order Processes with First Class Directed Channels

Abstract We present a small programming language for distributed systems based on message passing processes. In contrast to similar languages, channels are one-to-one connections between a unique sender and a unique receiver process. Process definitions and channels are first class values and the topology of process systems can change dynamically. The operational semantics of the language is defined by means of graph rewriting rules. A static type system based on the notion of linear types ensures that channels are always used as one-to-one connections.
Measurement of an Excess in the Yield of J/ψ at Very Low pT in Pb-Pb Collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV

We report on the first measurement of an excess in the yield of J=ψ at very low transverse momentum (pT < 0.3 GeV=c) in peripheral hadronic Pb-Pb collisions at √sNN=2.76 TeV, performed by ALICE at the CERN LHC. Remarkably, the measured nuclear modification factor of J=ψ in the rapidity range 2.5 <y< 4 reaches about 7 (2) in the pT range 0–0.3 GeV=c in the 70%–90% (50%–70%) centrality class. The J=ψ production cross section associated with the observed excess is obtained under the hypothesis that coherent photoproduction of J=ψ is the underlying physics mechanism.
