This chapter discusses the current state of the art with regard to the timecourse of sentence processing in the brain. It outlines the challenges associated with studying timecourse information at the sentence level from a neurobiological perspective and describes competing theoretical and empirical perspectives in this domain. In addition to drawing on findings from neurophysiological methods (electroencephalography [EEG]; magnetoencephalography [MEG]), insights from eye movement measures during natural reading are also taken into account. Prey animals can assess the risks predators present in different ways. For example, direct cues produced by predators can be used, but also signals produced by prey conspecifics that have engaged in non-lethal predator-prey interactions. These non-lethal interactions can thereby affect the physiology, behavior, and survival of prey individuals, and may affect offspring performance through maternal effects. We investigated how timing of exposure to predation-related cues during early development affects offspring behavior after weaning. Lielais laimiņš (Sedum maximum) kā modeļsuga smago metālu ietekmes un uzņemšanas fizioloģijas pētījumos

Darbā ir apkopota informācija par augu hiperakumulācijas spējām. Darba mērķis bija pārbaudīt iespēju izmantot lielo laimiņu smago metālu ietekmes un uzņemšanas pētījumos kontrolētos apstākļos un eksperimentāli noteikt biogēno metālu varu, cinku, mangānu un nātriju uzkrāšanos augos, kas audzēti metālu dažādu koncentrāciju ietekmē. Fizioloģiskās atbildes pētījumiem mērīja hlorofila saturu un hlorofila a fluorescenci, beigās noteica metālu saturu dažādās auga daļās. Darba rezultātā secināts, ka lielais laimiņš spēj efektīvi uzkrāt mangānu un cinku virsmezes orgānos, mangāns tika uzkrāts lielos daudzumos.
