Teachers’ intention to use educational video games: The moderating role of gender and age

Educational video games represent an educational change that challenges teachers and managers of Higher Education institutions in several ways including their attitude formation and behavioural intention. Using a Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) approach a research model is developed to predict teachers’ behavioural intention to use educational video games in their courses. Resumen Los datos del ensayo clinico PARADIGM-HF y otros estudios relevantes en insuficiencia cardiaca con fraccion de eyeccion reducida (IC-FEr) demuestran que los pacientes que etiquetamos de «estables» (la mayoria en clase funcional II de la NYHA y sin ingresos recientes por insuficiencia cardiaca [IC]) en realidad presentan un pronostico clinico muy desfavorable, ya que tienen una gran incidencia de ingresos por IC y/o mortalidad cardiovascular (un 25% en los siguientes 3 anos). Adolescence is a crucial period to learn Emotional Regulation (ER) strategies to prevent future psychological problems. This work is aimed to test the efficacy of GameTeen System (GT-System), a serious game that teaches ER strategies to regulate joy (VAS scale) and perceived arousal (FAS scale) in a non-clinical sample of adolescents. We conducted a between-participants experiment in which participants (N = 63) played a joy induction game, and then an ER game using one of three types of devices (computer, smartphone, and RGB-D camera). Although it is easy to capture a thermal image with infrared thermography, it is necessary to have the basic knowledge about how it works and the physical laws relating to it, as well as the radiative characteristics of the different bodies, and how heat is transferred between space and bodies. This knowledge is essential to establishing a logical hypothesis, using the camera rigorously, and interpreting the thermal data correctly. The aim of this chapter is to present the basic physical principles of infrared thermography, heat transfer and human thermoregulation.
