L'articolo propone una nuova interpretazione del rapporto fra brevità testuale e aspetto teleologico delle biografie, compiendo un percorso storico-letterario dalle "Vite parallele" di Plutarco fino alle reinterpretazioni novecentesche del genere biografico. The article proposes a new interpretation of the relationship between textual brevity and the teleological aspect of biographies, following a historical-literary path from Plutarch's "Parallel Lives" to the twentieth-century reinterpretations of the biographical genre.

Galdós was experiencing in his formation and in his first stage of production the narrative space of the press. The short story “El artículo de fondo” was published in 1871 in Revista de España, in 1879, in three installments in El Océano and reappears in 1889 in a collection of brief narrative texts that accompany his Torquemada en la hoguera. Metabolism and Lysine Biosynthesis Control in Brevibacterium Flavum: Impact of Stringent Response in Bacterial Cells

Parameters affecting lysine biosynthesis by Brevibacterium flavum RC 115 cells under stringent response conditions (test guanosine 5′-diphosphate 3′-diphosphate accumulation in cells) caused by threonine limitation were investigated. Experimental results confirmed that an increase in lysine biosynthesis by this bacterium under stringent response conditions might be a result of an increase in the intracellular concentration of NADPH as well as lysine export activity.

AbstractExocytosis of secretory granules by adrenal chromaffin cells is blocked by the tetanus toxin light chain in a zinc specific manner. Here we show that cellular synaptobrevin is almost completely degraded by the tetanus toxin light chain within 15 min. We used highly purified adrenal secretory granules to show that synaptobrevin, which can be cleaved by the tetanus toxin light chain, is localized in the vesicular membrane. Proteolysis of synaptobrevin in cells and in secretory granules is reversibly inhibited by the zinc chelating agent dipicolinic acid. Moreover, cleavage of synaptobrevin present in secretory granules by the tetanus toxin light chain is blocked by the zinc peptidase …
