L'articolo riflette sul processo di istituzionalizzazione della Consulta delle Culture del Comune di Palermo, istituita nel 2013, ed analizza la campagna elettorare del 2018 a partire dalle interviste ad alcuni candidati e testimoni privilegiati. The article concerns the institutionalization process of the Council of Cultures of the Municipality of Palermo, established in 2013. Furthermore, it analyzes the 2018 electoral campaign starting from interviews with some candidates and privilege witnesses.

The concept of sustainable development has been present in political discourse for many years. Striving to achieve it has become a worldwide priority. Success in this field depends not only on the right government policies. It is also a matter of society engagement. There are different direct and indirect tools intended to promote and reinforce positive changes in social attitudes. Among the most important ones are public awareness campaigns. The aim of the article is to present the ways in which they can contribute to sustainable development and how their positive impact should be properly assessed.

The paper presents the study of the plaster formulated to imitate the natural stones and marbles that are popular in Sicily in the early twentieth century and points out that the first applications and the dissemination of new mortars also in the rest of Italy feels the influence of the experiments conducted throughout Europe . The contribution summarizes the results of a rigorous and thorough reconnaissance of patents kept in the Archivio Centrale dello Stato in Rome relating to mortars for plastering an artificial stone critically analyzes the content and emphasizes cultural contacts with the experiments on large-scale restoration projects in Italy and France in the late nineteenth century. Tras su formación en virología en la Universidad de Rochester y en el Instituto Pasteur, puso en marcha un laboratorio de cultivos celulares en la Facultad de Medicina de Valencia, en donde desarrolló una técnica diagnóstica nueva para el virus de la polio. Cross-hemispheric transport of central African biomass burning pollutants: implications for downwind ozone production

Pollutant plumes with enhanced concentrations of trace gases and aerosols were observed over the southern coast of West Africa during August 2006 as part of the AMMA wet season field campaign. Plumes were observed both in the mid and upper troposphere. In this study we examined the origin of these pollutant plumes, and their potential to photochemically produce ozone (O<sub>3</sub>) downwind over the Atlantic Ocean. Their possible contribution to the Atlantic O<sub>3</sub> maximum is also discussed.
