Lauksaimniecības marginalizācijas ietekme uz aizsargājamo zālāju saglabāšanos Latvijā

Maģistra darba mērķis - noskaidrot, kāda ir lauksaimniecības marginalizācijas ietekme uz aizsargājamo zālāju saglabāšanos Latvijā. Pētījums aptver visu Latviju. Izmantoti dabisko zālāju izplatības dati uz 2015. gadu un dati par lauksaimniecības zemju apsaimniekošanu 2017.gadā, kā arī augšņu kvalitātes dati. Datu analīze veikta 5 x5 km tīkla šūnā, analīzei izmantojot aprakstošo statistiku (Manna-Vitnija U-tests) un veikta daudzfaktoru regresijas analīze ar Tweedie modeļa datu sadalījumu. 2015.gadā Latvijā aizsargājamie zālāji aizņēma 0,77 % (50 156 ha) no valsts teritorijas. Hydrothermal methane fluxes from the soil at Lakki plain (Nisyros Island, Greece)

Μετρήσεις φυσικής ροής μεθανίου και διοξειδίου του άνθρακα από το έδαφος πραγματοποιήθηκαν με τη μέθοδο συγκέντρωσης θαλάμου στην περιοχή Λακκί της Καλδέρας της Νισύρου, καλύπτοντας έκταση περίπου 0.06 km2 συμπεριλαμβάνοντας τις περιοχές Καμινάκια, Στέφανος και Αλέξανδρο όπου παρατηρείται έντονη ατμιδική δραστηριότητας. Οι τιμές ροής που μετρήθηκαν σε 77 σημεία κυμαίνονται από –3.4 μέχρι 1420 mg m-2 d-1 για το CH4 και από 0.1, μέχρι 383 g m-2 d-1 για το CO2. Στις τρεις ατμιδικές περιοχές παρουσιάζονται διαφορετικοί ρυθμοί διαφυγής μεθανίου, ιδίως στα Καμινάκια όπου προέκυψαν οι μεγαλύτερες τιμές ροής. The essential oils of the flowers of Magydaris tomentosa (Desf.) DC. (Apiaceae) collected in Sicily (MSi) and Algeria (MAl), respectively, were obtained by hydrodistillation, and their compositions were analysed. The analyses allowed the identification and quantification of 23 components in MSi and 60 compounds in MAl, respectively, showing a very different profile in the composition of the two populations. The main components of MSi were cembrene (28.2%), α-springene (17.5%) and β-springene (14.8%), also present in MAl but in lesser amount (0.4%, 1.8% and 0.9%, respectively), whereas the principal constituents of MAl were (E)-nerolidol (35.4%), α-costol (13.3%) and β-costol (6.8%). Search for the Decay of the Higgs Boson to Charm Quarks with the ATLAS Experiment

A direct search for the standard model Higgs boson decaying to a pair of charm quarks is presented. Associated production of the Higgs and Z bosons, in the decay mode ZH→ℓ+ℓ−c¯c is studied. A data set with an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb−1 of pp collisions at √s=13TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC is used. The H→c¯c signature is identified using charm-tagging algorithms. The observed (expected) upper limit on σ(pp→ZH)×B(H→c¯c) is 2.7 (3.9+2.1−1.1) pb at the 95% confidence level for a Higgs boson mass of 125 GeV, while the standard model value is 26 fb.
Beam-induced and cosmic-ray backgrounds observed in the ATLAS detector during the LHC 2012 proton-proton running period

This paper discusses various observations on beam-induced and cosmic-ray backgrounds in the ATLAS detector during the LHC 2012 proton-proton run. Building on published results based on 2011 data, the correlations between background and residual pressure of the beam vacuum are revisited. Ghost charge evolution over 2012 and its role for backgrounds are evaluated. New methods to monitor ghost charge with beam-gas rates are presented and observations of LHC abort gap population by ghost charge are discussed in detail.
