Efficient photoluminescent thin films consisting of anchored hybrid perovskite nanoparticles

2016

Methylammonium lead bromide nanoparticles are synthetized with a new ligand (11-aminoundecanoic acid hydrobromide) by a non-template method. Upon dispersion in toluene they show a remarkable photoluminescence quantum yield of 80%. In addition, the bifunctional ligand allows anchoring of the nanoparticles on a variety of conducting and semiconducting surfaces, showing bright photoluminescence with a quantum yield exceeding 50%. This opens a path for the simple and inexpensive preparation of multilayer light-emitting devices. Temperature Sensor Based on Colloidal Quantum Dots PMMA Nanocomposite Waveguides

2012

In this paper, integrated temperature sensors based on active nanocomposite planar waveguides are presented. The nanocomposites consist of cadmium selenide (CdSe) and cadmium telluride (CdTe) quantum dots (QDs) embedded in a polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) matrix. When the samples are heated in a temperature range from 25$^{circ}{rm C}$ to 50 $^{circ}{rm C}$, the waveguided photoluminescence of QDs suffers from a strong intensity decrease, which is approximately quadratic dependent on temperature. Moreover, the wavelength peak of the waveguided emission spectrum of CdTe-PMMA shows a blue shift of 0.25 ${rm nm}/^{circ}{rm C}$, whereas it remains constant in the case of CdSe-PMMA. A temperature…

Absorption and luminescence in amorphous SixGe1-xO2 films fabricated by SPCVD

2012

Abstract Optical absorption and photoluminescence of Ge-doped silica films fabricated by the surface-plasma chemical vapor deposition (SPCVD) are studied in the 2–8 eV spectral band. The deposited on silica substrate films of about 10 μm in thickness are composed as x·GeO2-(1-x)·SiO2 with x ranging from 0.02 to 1. It is found that all as‐deposited films do not luminesce under the excitation by a KrF (5 eV) excimer laser, thus indicating lack of oxygen deficient centers (ODCs) in them. After subsequent fusion of silicon containing (x

Time-resolved cathodoluminescence and photoluminescence of nanoscale oxides

2009

The nanostructured oxide materials such as ZnO, ZrO2, and Y3Al5O12 (YAG) are perspective materials for transparent scintillating and/or laser ceramics. The luminescence properties of single crystals, nanopowders and ceramic were compared. Nominally pure and rare-earth doped nanopowders and ceramics have been studied by means of time-resolved luminescence spectroscopy. The fast blue luminescence band was studied in ZnO ceramics sintering from different raw materials. The luminescence centres of ZrO2:Y were compared in a single crystal, ceramic and nanopowder. It is shown that ceramic sintering parameters have a strong influence on time-resolved luminescence characteristics in cerium-doped YA…

Numerical analysis of a piezoelectric structural health monitoring system for composite flange-skin delamination detection

2013

Abstract In this paper, a piezoelectric based Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) system is proposed to detect skin/stiffener debonding and delamination cracks proper of laminated composite structures. The SHM system is analyzed by means of a boundary element code implemented in the framework of piezoelectricity. The multidomain technique, coupled with an interface spring model, is used to model laminated composite structures as well as the bonding between the host delaminated structure and the piezoelectric sensor. Static sensitivity analyses are firstly performed on a drop-ply delaminated structure in order to identify a suitable configuration for the sensor. Then, the dynamic electromecha…

Pressure dependence of density and structural relaxation of glass near the glass transition region

2017

International audience; A simplified and effective pressure cell together with an experimental procedure has been developed and applied to compress samples of SCHOTT N-BK7 glass under static high pressures in a piston-cylinder apparatus. Results from the density and volume recovery measurements show that, the glass samples were effectively densified in piston-cylinder apparatus with the density at room temperature increasing linearly with frozen-in pressure. To explain the experimental data, we developed a mathematical model based on a suggestion by Gupta (1988) with two internal parameters, named fictive temperature (Tf) and fictive pressure (Pf), which fits the experimental data well.

The effect of extracellular matrix proteins on the cellular response of HUVECS and HOBS after covalent immobilization onto titanium

2014

Biomimetic surface modifications are regarded as promising approach to stimulate cellular behavior at the interface of implant materials. Aim of the study was an evaluation of the cellular response of human umbilical cord cells (HUVECS) and human osteoblasts (HOBS) on titanium covalently coated with the extracellular matrix (ECM) proteins fibrinogen, collagen, laminin, and osteopontin. For the surface modification, titanium discs were first amino-functionalized by plasma polymerization of allylamine. The ECM protein conjugation was performed using the linker molecule α, ω-bis-N-hydroxysuccinimide polyethylene glycol (Di-NHS linker). For surface characterization, infrared spectroscopy and fl…

Blend scaffolds with polyaspartamide/polyester structure fabricated via TIPS and their RGDC functionalization to promote osteoblast adhesion and prol…

2019

Target of this work was to prepare a RGDC functionalized hybrid biomaterial via TIPS technique to achieve a more efficient control of osteoblast adhesion and diffusion on the three-dimensional (3D) scaffolds. Starting from a crystalline poly(l-lactic acid) (PLLA) and an amorphous alpha,beta-poly(N-2-hydroxyethyl) (2-aminoethylcarbamate)-d,l-aspartamide-graft-polylactic acid (PHEA-EDA-g-PLA) copolymer, blend scaffolds were characterized by an appropriate porosity and pore interconnection. The PHEA-EDA-PLA interpenetration with PLLA improved hydrolytic susceptibility of hybrid scaffolds. The presence of free amino groups on scaffolds allowed to tether the cyclic RGD peptide (RGDC) via Michael…
