Search for exclusive photoproduction ofZc±(3900) at COMPASS

2015

A search for the exclusive production of the Z(c)(+/-)(3900) hadron by virtual photons has been performed in the channel Z(c)(+/-)(3900). J/Psi pi(+/-). The data cover the range from 7GeV to 19GeV in the centre-of- mass energy of the photon-nucleon system. The full set of the COMPASS data set collected with a muon beam between 2002 and 2011 has been used. An upper limit for the ratio BR(Z(c)(+/-)(3900)-> J/Psi pi(+/-)) x sigma(gamma N) -> Z(c)(+/-)(3900) N/sigma gamma N -> J/Psi N 3.7 x10(-3) has been established at the confidence level of90%. Methods of Digital Hilbert Optics in the Analysis and Objects’ Recognition

2016

This paper describes methods on how to increase the effectiveness of objects’ pictures identification based on correlation methods. The main concept of increasing the discriminant effectiveness is based on highlighting of characteristic points of recognized objects by applying Hilbert transformations. Study of the effectiveness of Digital Hilber Optics (DHO) have been performed on a set of aircrafts, whose models rendered first as binary images, and then as grayscale. It has been performed a very detailed analysis of requirements on resources of information system’s which would in a real world support the discriminatory decision of objects’ class for which the sample database has been creat…

Fredholm Spectra and Weyl Type Theorems for Drazin Invertible Operators

2016

In this paper we investigate the relationship between some spectra originating from Fredholm theory of a Drazin invertible operator and its Drazin inverse, if this does exist. Moreover, we study the transmission of Weyl type theorems from a Drazin invertible operator R, to its Drazin inverse S.

A multisensor fusion approach to improve LAI time series

2011

International audience; High-quality and gap-free satellite time series are required for reliable terrestrial monitoring. Moderate resolution sensors provide continuous observations at global scale for monitoring spatial and temporal variations of land surface characteristics. However, the full potential of remote sensing systems is often hampered by poor quality or missing data caused by clouds, aerosols, snow cover, algorithms and instrumentation problems. A multisensor fusion approach is here proposed to improve the spatio-temporal continuity, consistency and accuracy of current satellite products. It is based on the use of neural networks, gap filling and temporal smoothing techniques. …

Aggregation systems for sales forecasting

2015

Abstract Sales forecasting consists of calculating the expected sales of a specific product or company. An important issue when dealing with sales forecasting is the calculation of the average sales, usually using the arithmetic mean or the weighted average. This study introduces new methods for calculating the average sales. These methods are two modern aggregation operators: the ordered weighted average, and the unified aggregation operator. The main advantage of this approach is the possibility to deal with uncertain and complex environments in a more complete way. The study develops some key examples through multi-person and multi-criteria techniques. The study also presents a numerical…

Application of an innovative alignment optimisation method to a cross-cultural mean comparison of teacher self-efficacy: A cross-country study

2021

Teacher self-efficacy is a crucial personal characteristic that is important not only for teachers’ well-being but also for the overall teaching and learning. However, the difficulty to ascertain scalar invariance in the measurement of the construct has beset previous attempts of cross-cultural comparisons. This study implements an alignment optimisation method to compare and rank mean teacher self-efficacy of over 150,000 teachers across 48 countries and economies that participated in the Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) that was conducted 2018. The findings show that Columbia, Portugal, United Arab Emirates, Hungary, and South Africa have teachers with the highest mean s…

The Algorithm of a Game-Based System in the Relation between an Operator and a Technical Object in Management of E-Commerce Logistics Processes with …

2021

Machine learning (ML) is applied in various logistic processes utilizing innovative techniques (e.g., the use of drones for automated delivery in e-commerce). Early challenges showed the insufficient drones’ steering capacity and cognitive gap related to the lack of theoretical foundation for controlling algorithms. The aim of this paper is to present a game-based algorithm of controlling behaviours in the relation between an operator (OP) and a technical object (TO), based on the assumption that the game is logistics-oriented and the algorithm is to support ML applied in e-commerce optimization management. Algebraic methods, including matrices, Lagrange functions, systems of differential e…

Independent friction-restitution modeling of two-disk collisions

2021

[EN] The oblique collisions between two axisymmetric disks moving on a flat horizontal surface are described in terms of impact modeling based on the assumption that normal and tangential restitution mechanisms operate independently of friction. Describing these mechanisms in terms of the usual Coulomb formulation, the model allows for an interpretation of some ¿anomalous¿ experimental data reported in the literature. These experimental data, corresponding to the variation of the coefficients of friction and tangential restitution with the impact angle, remained unexplained in classic formulations, are understood within the framework of the independent friction-restitution closure. Experime…

First M87 Event Horizon Telescope Results. II. Array and Instrumentation

2019

The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) is a very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) array that comprises millimeter- and submillimeter-wavelength telescopes separated by distances comparable to the diameter of the Earth. At a nominal operating wavelength of ~1.3 mm, EHT angular resolution (λ/D) is ~25 μas, which is sufficient to resolve nearby supermassive black hole candidates on spatial and temporal scales that correspond to their event horizons. With this capability, the EHT scientific goals are to probe general relativistic effects in the strong-field regime and to study accretion and relativistic jet formation near the black hole boundary. In this Letter we describe the system design of th…
