Combined Forward-Backward Asymmetry Measurements in Top-Antitop Quark Production at the Tevatron

The CDF and D0 experiments at the Fermilab Tevatron have measured the asymmetry between yields of forward- and backward-produced top and antitop quarks based on their rapidity difference and the asymmetry between their decay leptons. These measurements use the full data sets collected in proton-antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of √s=1.96 TeV. We report the results of combinations of the inclusive asymmetries and their differential dependencies on relevant kinematic quantities. The combined inclusive asymmetry is At¯tFB=0.128±0.025. The combined inclusive and differential asymmetries are consistent with recent standard model predictions.
Precise measurement of the top quark mass in dilepton decays using optimized neutrino weighting

We measure the top quark mass in dilepton final states of top-antitop events in proton-antiproton collisions at sqrt(s) = 1.96 TeV, using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9.7 fb^-1 at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. The analysis features a comprehensive optimization of the neutrino weighting method to minimize the statistical uncertainties. We also improve the calibration of jet energies using the calibration determined in top-antitop to lepton+jets events, which reduces the otherwise limiting systematic uncertainty from the jet energy scale. The measured top quark mass is mt = 173.32 +/- 1.36(stat) +/- 0.85(syst) GeV.

The publication in 1696 of the Catalan-Latin dictionary Gazophylacium Catalano-Latinum by Joan Lacavalleria led to the incorporation into Catalan of a large number of technical terms, in spite of the early modern sociocultural context being unfavourable to scientific and technical developments. The Gazophylacium is the Catalan version of a French-Latin dictionary, Le Dictionaire royal augmente by Francois-Antoine Pomey. Reflections on the role and design of online dictionaries for specialised translation

This article is an updated and modified version of a Spanish article published in MonTi 6 (cf. Tarp 2014a). It deals with specialised translation dictionaries. Based on the principles of the function theory, it analyses the different phases and sub-phases of the translation process from a lexicographical perspective and shows that a translation dictionary should be much more than a mere bilingual dictionary if it really pretends to meet its users’ complex needs. Terminología y traducción económica francés-español: evaluación de recursos terminológicos en el ámbito contable

The aim of this paper is to evaluate a series of terminology resources and determine their suitability to the practice of French-Spanish translation of accounting documents. First we identify the terminology needs of a specific group of translator trainees when facing business translation, as well as the resources they use particularly when translating annual accounts. Then, we select various terminology resources used in this context and evaluate them according to their needs. The results suggest the development of a French-Spanish dictionary of accounting terms adapted to the terminology needs of the practice of translation in this area.
