Purpose: In aphasic patients, some studies have already emphasized the efficacy of transcranial direct current stim- ulation (tDCS) during the treatment of noun retrieval deficits. Role of the basolateral amygdala in retrieval of conditioned flavors in the awake rat.

International audience; Learned association between odor, taste and further post-ingestive consequence is known as flavor nutrient conditioned preference. Amygdala is supposed to be one of the areas involved in these associations. In the present study, one flavor was associated with a 16% glucose (CS+) whereas another flavor was paired with less reinforcing 4% glucose (CS-). We showed that CS+ presentation after conditioning increased Fos expression in the basolateral nucleus of amygdala (BLA). Variability in individual response to various doses of omeprazole. Implications for antiulcer therapy.

This study was carried out in order to perform a combined prospective assessment of the individual pharmacodynamic response and of duodenal ulcer healing in patients treated with three different doses of omeprazole. Ninety-nine patients with endoscopically proven duodenal ulcers were subdivided into three parallel groups of 33 cases, who were randomly assigned to receive orally at 0800 hr, in single blind fashion, either 10 mg, 20 mg, or 40 mg of omeprazole. Aim The aim of this study was to identify adaptations in muscle activity distribution to spinal tissue creep in presence of muscle fatigue. Methods Twenty-three healthy participants performed a fatigue task before and after 30 minutes of passive spinal tissue deformation in flexion. Tuning of the Mg Alloy AZ31 Anodizing Process for Biodegradable Implants

Coatings were grown on the AZ31 Mg alloy by a hard anodizing process in the hot glycerol phosphate-containing electrolyte. Anodizing conditions were optimized, maximizing corrosion resistance estimated by impedance measurements carried out in Hank's solution at 37 °C. A post anodizing annealing treatment (350 °C for 24 h) allowed us to further enhance the corrosion resistance of the coatings mainly containing magnesium phosphate according to energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and Raman analyses. Spiral wave induced numerically using electrical stimulation and comparison with experimental results.

Experiments in vitro on a Microelectrode Array (MEA) platform show that electrical stimulation can provoke the generation of spiral waves in cardiac tissue. Nevertheless, the conditions leading to this artificial fibrillation state remain unclear. In order to have a better understanding of this phenomenon, a numerical simulation study has been conducted. The results obtained with a two-dimensional FitzHugh-Nagumo model proved that it is possible to create spiral waves by adding a stimulation current under certain conditions, which are made explicit.
