Structural distortions in homoleptic (RE)4A (E = O, S, Se; A = C, Si, Ge, Sn): Implications for the CVD of tin sulfides
2001
The structures of Sn(SBut)4 and Sn(SCy)4 have been determined and adopt S4 and D2 conformations respectively; the anion [(PhS)Sn3]−, as its Ph4P+ salt, has a structure approaching Cs symmetry. In all three compounds, there are large variations in the ∠S–Sn–S within the same molecule, which have been rationalised in terms of the C–S–Sn–S–C conformations. For Sn(SR)4, the ∠S–Sn–S increases as the conformations change from trans, trans to trans, gauche and gauche, gauche, as the number of eclipsed lone pairs decreases and this rationale is shown to be applicable to a variety of A(ER)4 (A = C, Si, Ge, Sn; E = O, S, Se) and related [Mo(SR)4, Ga(SR)4−] systems. AM1 calculations have been used to …
Deposition of tin sulfide thin films from tin(iv) thiolate precursors
2001
AACVD (aerosol-assisted chemical vapour deposition) using (PhS)(4)Sn as precursor leads to the deposition of Sn3O4 in the absence of H2S and tin sulfides when H2S is used as co-reactant. At 450 degreesC the film deposited consists of mainly SnS2 while at 500 degreesC SnS is the dominant component. The mechanism of decomposition of (PhS)(4)Sn is discussed and the structure of the precursor presented.
The Synthesis of Quinoline‐based Tin Complexes with Pendant Schiff Bases
2019
Whilst pursuing the synthetic utility of quinoline‐based tin complexes, Me2Sn(Quin‐NO2)2 (1) and Ph2Sn(Quin‐NO2)2 (2) (Quin‐NO2 = 5‐nitroquinolino‐8‐oate) were synthesized bearing coordinatively inert nitro groups. Conventional reduction methodologies successfully converted 1 to Me2Sn(Quin‐NH2)2 (3) and 2 to Ph2Sn(Quin‐NH2)2 (4) (Quin‐NH2 = 5‐aminoquinolino‐8‐oate). The synthetically useful amine groups proved difficult to exploit in the presence of the central tin atom, however, a complete Schiff base functionalized Sn complex of the dimethyltin pro‐ligand Me2Sn(Quin‐py)2 (6) was successfully synthesized from 5‐[(pyridin‐2‐ylmethylene)amino]quinolin‐8‐ol (HQuin‐py; 5) in good yield via an …
High-quality superconducting titanium nitride thin film growth using infra-red pulsed laser deposition
2018
Superconducting titanium nitride (TiN) thin films were deposited on magnesium oxide, sapphire and silicon nitride substrates at 700 °C, using a pulsed laser deposition (PLD) technique, where infrared (1064 nm) pulses from a solid-state laser were used for the ablation from a titanium target in a nitrogen atmosphere. Structural studies performed with x-ray diffraction showed the best epitaxial crystallinity for films deposited on MgO. In the best films, superconducting transition temperatures, T C, as high as 4.8 K were observed, higher than in most previous superconducting TiN thin films deposited with reactive sputtering. A room temperature resistivity down to ~17 μΩ cm and residual resist…
New Insights into Segmental Packing, Chain Dynamics and Thermomechanical Performance of Aliphatic Polyurea Composites: Comparison between Silica Oxid…
2021
Polyurea (PU) is intrinsically reinforced by its microphase-separated morphology, giving its excellent mechanical properties. In this study, it is shown how a high-index PU formulation applies easy diffusion of hard segments into the soft phase of the PU matrix and tune its chain mobility. Moreover, the interaction of micro (>100 nm), nano (<100 nm) fillers with the microdomains and their thermomechanical properties are unraveled. Herein, nanosilica oxide (NS) and micro titanium (III) oxide (Ti2O3) are incorporated at low loadings into a solvent-free two-component aliphatic PU via insitu polymerization. While NS achieves an interfacial interaction with urea groups and forms a tight ha…
Calcium mediated polyelectrolyte adsorption on like-charged surfaces.
2011
International audience; Monte Carlo simulations within the primitive model of calcium-mediated adsorption of linear and comb polyelectrolytes onto like-charged surfaces are described, focusing on the effect of calcium and polyion concentrations as well as on the ion pairing between polymers and calcium ions. We use a combination of Monte Carlo simulations and experimental data from titration and calcium binding to quantify the ion pairing. The polymer adsorption is shown to occur as a result of surface overcharging by Ca2+ and ion pairing between charged monomers and Ca2+. In agreement with experimental observations, the simulations predict that the polymer adsorption isotherm goes through …
Systeemisen lastensuojelun toimintamallin ydinelementit : Kuvaus asiakastason ydinelementeistä, tavoitteista ja toimintamekanismeista
2019
Tämä työpaperi kuvaa suomalaisen systeemisen lastensuojelun toimintamallin keskeiset ydinelementit, tavoitteet ja toimintamekanismit. Kuvaus on kirjoitettu tutkijoiden vetämän työpajaprosessin pohjalta, missä tutkijat kutsuivat mallin kansalliseen kehittämiseen ja levittämiseen osallistuneita avainhenkilöitä työstämään yhteistä käsitystä mallin keskeisimmistä ominaisuuksista.

Âzyk do Kieva dovedët: âzykovaâ kommunikaciâ v oblasti turizma
2008
The paper covers the issues related to the intercultural communication in the area of tourism. The problems of linguistic communication are considered from the point of view of the adequacy of the translation of texts or statements related to the promotion of a country, a region, a place and a tourist objects into Russian or German. Historical information included in the texts of tourist guides appears to be an important matter in this area, because in the historiography of particular linguistic and cultural areas of language, there are noticeable differences in perception and interpretation of some historical facts. A notable issue is the adeąuacy of the translation of proper names relatin…
The Ti-influence on the tourmaline color
2008
Titanium was examined in different black tourmalines by spectrophotometric analyses in the region between 12500 and 27000 cm-1 (800-370 nm) using a microscope spectrophotometer MPV-5P, Leitz (Germany), and chemically analyzed on an electron microprobe Camebax Microbeam, Cameca (France) in WDS Mode. Fourteen tourmaline samples with their face oriented parallel to the principal axis, cut and polished down to thin sections, showed polarized spectra of two broad absorption bands at approximately 14000 cm-1 (715 nm) and 24000 cm-1 (417 nm). Precision thickness measurements were used to calculate the absorption coefficients α. For the absorption around 24000 cm-1, a linear correlation was observe…
