Single Event Burnout of SiC Junction Barrier Schottky Diode High-Voltage Power Devices

Ion-induced degradation and catastrophic failures in high-voltage SiC Junction Barrier Schottky (JBS) power diodes are investigated. Experimental results agree with earlier data showing discrete jumps in leakage current for individual ions, and show that the boundary between leakage current degradation and a single-event-burnout-like effect is a strong function of LET and reverse bias. TCAD simulations show high localized electric fields under the Schottky junction, and high temperatures generated directly under the Schottky contact, consistent with the hypothesis that the ion energy causes eutectic-like intermixture at the metal- semiconductor interface or localized melting of the silicon …

Social television has transformed the traditional role of the television viewers by providing ‘ordinary people’ access to the public stage. This article describes how public access to television affected the dialogues of Finnish tweeters on Twitter during the massive media event of the FIFA World Cup. Through the lens of digital conversation analysis, the study shows how the media publicity of tweets changed the direction of the interaction between tweeters and transformed their roles vis-à-vis the television show, making one of them into a ‘media flasher’ and the others viewers of his or her performance. Autor odwołuje się w swych rozważaniach do założeń pro-filaktyki pozytywnej, przeciwstawiając ją profilaktyce negatywnej. Zwraca również uwagę na moż-liwe konsekwencje przyjętych przekonań nauczycieli dotyczących zachowania uczniów oraz dzia-łalności profilaktycznej szkoły. ABSTRACT. Violence is a serious problem, and social and health care providers are in a key position for implementing successful interventions. This qualitative study of 6 focus groups with professionals (n = 30) examines the health care professionals’ ways of framing a domestic violence intervention. Of special interest here is how professionals see their own roles in the process of recognizing and helping victims of domestic violence.
