The mRNA and protein levels of RKIP are reduced and those of YY1 increased in clinical HCC. Loss, mutation, or promoter hypermethylation of the RKIP gene may not account for the downregulation of RKIP in HCC. Histone deacetylation can silence gene expression and play a significant role in hepatocarcinogenesis. The histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACI) trichostatin induced cell growth inhibition and proapoptotic effects in HA22T/VGH and HepG2 HCC cells; it also exhibited synergy with doxorubicin. The synthesis of two enantiomeric pairs of pyrimidoisoindoles 9a, 9b and 10a, 10b is reported. Antihipertensīvie medikamenti tiek lietoti, lai ārstētu hipertensiju, kas ir viena no pasaulē biežākajām kardiovaskulārajām saslimšanām. Antihipertensīvie medikamenti tiek iedalīti 5 grupās- beta blokatori, AT II receptoru blokatori, AKEI inhibitori, kalcija kanālu blokatori, diurētiskie līdzekļi. Darba uzdevumi bija analizēt antihipertensīvo medikamentu apriti „Saldus Zaļajā aptiekā” „Liepu Zaļajā aptiekā” par 2013. un 2014. gadu, noskaidrot, kuri no kombinētajiem antihipertensīviem medikamentiem ir vispieprasītākie, izpētīt antihipertensīvo medikamentu lietošanu atkarībā no dzimuma un vecuma. Jauna dihidropiridīna atvasinājuma AV-6-93 efekts uz biomarķiera BDNF ekspresiju stresa modelī žurkām

Stresa izraisītie atmiņas bojājumi ir iemesls jaunu zāļu vielu meklējumiem, kas spētu aizkavēt smadzeņu bojājumus. Mūsu pētījuma mērķis bija noteikt jauna Latvijas Organiskās sintēzes institūtā sintezētās zāļu vielas AV-6-93, kas sastāv no dihidropiridīna un adamantāna atvasinājumiem, ietekmi uz neirotrofā faktora BDNF ekspresiju imobilizācijas stresētām žurkām hipokampā ar Western blota metodi. Petījuma rezultāti rāda, ka imobilizācijas stress ir palielinājis BDNF ekspresiju žurku hipokampā salīdzinājumā ar kontroles hipokampa žurkām, un AV-6-93 piemīt spēja normalizēt BDNF ekspresiju stresēto žurku hipokampā.
