Oxidovanadium(v) complexes with l-proline-based amino acid phenolates

L-proline was used to prepare chiral, tridentate amino acid phenol proligands H2L1—4. These proligands react with vanadium precursors VO(acac)2, VOSO4 ∙ 5 H2O and VO(OPr)3 in methanol to form the corresponding oxidoalkoxidovanadium(V) complexes 1—4. The complexes crystallize from methanol, and are octahedrally coordinated with a general formula [VO(L1—4)(OMe)(MeOH)]. In solution, however, they adopt several different conformations or isomeric structures depending on the solvent. peerReviewed

Vaccinium uliginosum L. ogu izspiedu ekstrakta antioksidatīvās īpašības

Ogu izspiedas tagad tiek novērtētas kā veselībai nozīmīgu, bioloģiski aktīvu vielu avots. Oksidatīvais šūnu stress ir daudzu patoloģiju pamatā, tāpēc tā novēršanai tiek meklēti savienojumi ar antioksidantu īpašībām. Darba mērķis ir pētīt zileņu izspiedu ekstrakta kopējo polifenolu un flavonoīdu saturu un antioksidantu īpašības. Tika izmantoti vairāki testi – kopējā antioksidantu spēja, brīvā radikāļa DPPH un superoksīda anjona koncentrācijas samazināšana un reducētāja spēja. Visos testos zileņu ekstraktam atradām antioksidantu īpašības. Zileņu ekstrakta antioksidantu efekti tika salīdzināti ar askorbīnskābes un troloksa efektiem. Drosera rotundifolia L. is a carnivorous plant used in traditional medicine for its therapeutic properties. Because of its small size, its collection in nature is laborious and different cultivation methods have been studied to ensure availability. The effects of commercial enzymes (pectinases, cellulases, beta-1-3-glucanases, and pectin lyases) on the recovery of anthocyanins and polyphenols from blackcurrant press cake were studied considering two solid:solvent ratios (1:10 and 1:4 w/v). β-glucanase enabled the recovery of the highest total phenolic content – 1142 mg/100 g, and the extraction of anthocyanins was similar using all enzymes (∼400 mg/100 g). The use of cellulases and pectinases enhanced the extraction of antioxidants (DPPH − 1080 mg/100 g; CUPRAC – 3697 mg/100 g). Gaismas ietekme uz bioloģiski aktīvo savienojumu uzkrāšanos dažādās tomātu šķirnēs

Gaismas kvalitatīvais sastāvs ietekmē karotinoīdu un fenolu savienojumu biosintēzē iesaistīto gēnu regulēšanu ar fotoreceptoru starpniecību. Audzējot tomātus zem atšķirīga spektrālā sastāva gaismas avotiem, iespējams, varētu panākt atšķirīgu bioloģiski aktīvo savienojumu uzkrāšanos. Šajā maģistra darbā četru dažādu šķirņu tomātus audzēja zem trīs spektrāli atšķirīgiem gaismas avotiem – LED, indukcijas un augstspiediena nātrija lampām. Likopēna, beta-karotīna un fenolu savienojumu, kā nozīmīgu savienojumu tomātu kvalitātes un uzturvērtības nodrošināšanā, uzkrāšanos, atkarībā no izmantotā gaismas avota, tomātu augļos noteica spektrofotometriski. Bisphenol A removal from water by biomass-based carbon : Isotherms, kinetics and thermodynamics studies

Biomass-based carbon was modified and used as an efficient bisphenol A (BPA) sorbent. The simple and environmentally friendly modification method produced sorbent with a capacity of 41.5 mg/g. The raw material was modified with FeCl3 (Fe-CR), treated with hydrochloric acid (H-CR) or modified with CaCl2 (Ca-CR). Batch sorption experiments were performed to evaluate the effects of the initial pH, sorbent dosage, temperature, and contact time on BPA removal. BPA removal with modified carbons was notably higher than that with unmodified carbon.
