The Basic Psychological Need Satisfaction and Frustration Scale (BPNSFS) is a self-report instrument assessing the satisfaction and frustration of the three basic psychological needs of autonomy, competence, and relatedness defined by self-determination theory. The aim of this study was to examine the dimensionality, the predictive validity, and the measurement invariance across different age groups of the Italian version of the BPNSFS. The participants were 2,204 Italian adolescents and young adults (41% males) from 14 to 28 years old (M age = 20.23, SD = 4.25). In the present work, new examples of μ3-OH/oximato Cu3 triangles have been obtained by treatment of different copper salts with 6-methyl-2-pyridylaldoxime [6-MepyC(H)NOH, 6-mepaoH]. Depending on the anion, the compounds [Cu3(OH)(6-mepao)3(O2CPh)2] (1), [Cu6(OH)2(6-mepao)6(NO3)3](NO3)·H2O (2·H2O) and [Cu6(OH)2(6-mepao)6(ClO4)3](ClO4) (3) formed and were characterized. Complex 1 is an isolated triangle, whereas 2 and 3 are hexanuclear compounds with two triangular subunits linked by anionic bridges. We consider an XXZ spin-1/2 chain coupled to optical phonons with non-zero frequency $\omega_0$. In the adiabatic limit (small $\omega_0$), the chain is expected to spontaneously dimerize and open a spin gap, while the phonons become static. In the antiadiabatic limit (large $\omega_0$), phonons are expected to give rise to frustration, so that dimerization and formation of spin-gap are obtained only when the spin-phonon interaction is large enough. International audience; The entanglement quantum properties of a spin-1/2 Ising-Heisenberg model on a symmetrical diamond chain were analyzed. Due to the separable nature of the Ising-type exchange interactions between neighboring Heisenberg dimers, calculation of the entanglement can be performed exactly for each individual dimer. Pairwise thermal entanglement was studied in terms of the isotropic Ising-Heisenberg model and analytical expressions for the concurrence (as a measure of bipartite entanglement) were obtained. Magnetization and magnetoresistive response of LiMn2O4 near the charge ordering transition

We report magnetization and magnetoresistance studies of the geometrically frustrated spinel compound LiMn2O4 near its charge ordering temperature. The effect of a 7 T magnetic field is to very slightly shift the transition in the resistivity to lower temperatures resulting in large negative magnetoresistance with significant hysteresis. This hysteresis is not reflected in the magnetization. These observations are compared with what is found in the colossal magnetoresistance and charge ordering perovskite manganese oxides. The manner in which geometric frustration influences the coupling of charge and spin degrees of freedom is examined.
Magnetic phase diagram of the anisotropic multi-band Hubbard model

Using quantum Monte Carlo (QMC) simulations we determine the magnetic phase diagram of the anisotropic two-band Hubbard model within the dynamical mean-field theory (DMFT) in the important intermediate-coupling regime. We compare the QMC predictions with exact results from second-order weak-and strong-coupling perturbation theory. We find that the orbital-selective Mott transition (OSMT), which occurs in the fully frustrated case, is completely hidden in the antiferromagnetic (AF) ground state of the model. Frustration of structural fluctuations upon equilibration of shear melts

Abstract We report on the formation of amorphous solids from aquaeous suspensions of charged colloidal spheres. Comprehensive light scattering and microscopic studies show that in these systems the nucleation rate density continuously increases to very high values. At the highest particle densities of 47.5 μm −3 (packing fraction Φ =0.146) an amorphous state is observed of only short range order, finite static shear modulus and frozen long time dynamics. This state is composed of a piling of––as we propose pre-critical––nuclei. Differences from the Hard Sphere case are discussed in some detail. Emotional experience has become an important topic in human-technology interaction research and design. Nevertheless, such research and design often lacks a proper explanatory basis and methodologically robust operationalisation. In this article, a conceptualisation of emotional user experience is formulated based on the appraisal theory of emotion, where the goal congruence of the interaction events and the task-independent individual traits are thought to underlie the user's emotional response.
