Evidencias de un recubrimiento de magnetita artificial en el armamento íbero

A metallographic study of two pre-roman Iberian arms, affected by a cremation process, revealed the presence of an outer magnetite layer, providing highly protective properties. This layer is extraordinarily tenacious and of very homogeneous thickness, indicating an intentional manufacturing process rather than an accidental formation during the severe heating/cooling cycles the artefact suffered. Up to date, the intentional production of these types of layers has been attributed to a welding process of three different metallic sheets, here an alternative model is proposed, allowing, as could be simulated in the laboratory, the virtually exclusive formation of a magnetite coating.<br>…

Abstract Background The public health systems of the post-Soviet states have evolved from the san-epid system, which dominated public health practice throughout the former Soviet Union. Since independence, reforms have taken different directions. This article provides a cross-country comparison of public health reform processes and contents in 10 post-Soviet states. Methods The study is descriptive and comparative, based on a literature review of the major health databases, the Health Systems in Transition (HiT) volumes and grey literature. Aportaciones al conocimiento de los mosquitos (Diptera, Culicidae) de alta montaña presentes en la Península Ibérica

Several larval samplings of mosquitoes (Diptera, Culicidae) in different mountainous regions of the peninsular Spain were carried out. A total of 2796 specimens belonging to 18 species were collected, nevertheless the 72.5 % of these finds includes only three of them (Cx. hortensis hortensis, Cx. pipiens and Cs. longiareolata). The adaptation capacity to a varied typology of water bodies together with the marked multivoltinism that characterizes their biotic cycles are postulated as two of the principal reasons that explain their abundances. The altitudinal distribution as well as some information about the bioecology of all the species captured are also exposed.

Pułkownik Zbigniew Jacorzyński to postać wybitnie zasłużona dla polskiego pożarnictwa. Urodził się 8 sierpnia 1921 roku w Cieszynie. Był synem oficera Wojska Polskiego. W młodości udzielał się w polskim harcerstwie. W 1937 roku stanął do poboru i dostał przydział do broni pancernej, głównie z powodu fascynacji motoryzacją. W 1939 roku ukończył liceum o profilu matematyczno-fizycznym, po czym odbył obowiązkową sześciotygodniową służbę w Junackich Hufcach Pracy w Równym, na granicy Polesia i Wołynia. Se presenta un ejemplo inédito de epigrafía ibéric a en una peculiar «chapa» lenticular de bronce. Descontextualizada arqueológicamente, la pieza presenta tres perforaciones, las cuales indicarían que se hicieron para portarla col gada o cosida a modo de amuleto. Quantitative reconstruction of hydroclimate variability over the last 200 kyr in the West Mediterranean

The data show the quantitative annual, winter and summer precipitation reconstructions (mm/yr) from southern Iberian Peninsula for the last ~200,000 years (Camuera et al., 2022), based on the previously published fossil pollen data from the Padul-15-05 lake sediment record (Ramos-Román et al., 2018a, b; Camuera et al., 2019, 2021). The Padul-15-05 record, located in southern Spain (37º00'39''N, 3º36'14''W, 726 masl), was retrieved during summer 2015 from the current edge of the lake using a Rolatec RL-48-L hydraulic percussion coring machine.
