Appréhender les inégalités dans et par l'enseignement supérieur : spécificité des mesures, spécificité des processus ?
2009
To assess social inequalities in higher education often appears as a straightforward issue: as a routine and as at the previous levels of education, one compares the diverse social groups' rates of access (or the rates of success) and any difference will be considered as an inequality... That will induce, sometimes, implementing some programs of positive discrimination. However, especially because higher education is the "final" stage of schooling careers, any analysis focusing on that level requires some specific reflection about how to assess social inequalities, with some political implications. This note raises some interrogations, both methodological and more theoretical (or political)…

2016
With population ageing, the demand for home care of the disabled elderly is increasing and a large part of care is provided by informal caregivers. This paper focuses on the determinants of care provision by children to an old, single and disabled parent. We focus on two-child families and apply a semi-structural methodology, already implemented on European data (survey SHARE). It makes it possible to distinguish between two types of determinants: structural determinants (individual, parental and family characteristics) and interactions (effect of the care provision of one child on the care provision of the other). The estimation of this model on data of the French survey "Handicap Santé Mé…
Enantiodifferentiation of N-benzyloxycarbonylaminophosphonic and phosphinic acids and their esters using cyclodextrins by means of capillary electrop…
2005
Capillary electrophoresis was successfully applied for separation of the enantiomers of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-alpha-aminophosphonic and alpha-aminophosphinic acids as well as their ethyl and phenyl monoesters with the use of a range of commercially available cyclodextrins (alpha, beta and hydroxypropyl-gamma-cyclodextrins) as chiral selectors. The dependence of effectiveness of separation on type and concentration of these chiral selectors as well as on pH of background electrolyte was examined in some detail.
Chemometric Tools to Point Out Benchmarks and Chromophores in Pigments through Spectroscopic Data Analyses
2021
Spectral preprocessing data and chemometric tools are analytical methods widely applied in several scientific contexts i.e., in archaeometric applications. A systematic classification of natural powdered pigments of organic and inorganic nature through Principal Component Analysis with a multi-instruments spectroscopic study is presented here. The methodology allows the access to elementary and molecular unique benchmarks to guide and speed up the identification of an unknown pigment and its recipe. This study is conducted on a set of 48 powdered pigments and tested on a real-case sample from the wall painting in S. Maria Delle Palate di Tusa (Messina, Italy). Four spectroscopic techniques …
External and internal elimination of supernumerary larvae in the whitefly parasitoid Eretmocerus mundus Mercet (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae)
2008
Abstract The solitary parasitoid Eretmocerus mundus Mercet (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) is one of the key biological control agents of the whitefly Bemisia argentifolii Bellows & Perring, also known as B. tabaci (Gennadius) B-biotype (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae). We present new information on its biology, and particularly about larval elimination during the first instar in cases of superparasitism. For the first time, physical elimination of supernumerary larvae was observed, both outside and inside the host. These findings are documented with confocal microscopy images and video recordings. We observed more than 350 B. argentifolii nymphs, parasitized with one, two or more than two larvae. Physi…
L'INCLUSIONE FINANZIARIA DEGLI IMMIGRATI: LA TUTELA DEL CONSUMATORE VULNERABILE NEI SERVIZI BANCARI
2021
This book analyzes the linguistic, economic, social and religious obstacles that hinder the immigrant's financial inclusion and attempts, given the current law and referring to comparative experiences, to identify private remedies to protect these consumers. The thesis deals with the problem of linguistic risk management of the immigrant consumer with hints of behavioral law and economics and a comparative analysis, and then focus on the problems of access to credit and current accounts; lastly, it is argued the admissibility of Shari'a compliant contracts. Through a systematic analysis, this work concludes that the vulnerable consumer figure has been codified in the sectoral legislation: d…
Dipeptides of S-Substituted Dehydrocysteine as Artzyme Building Blocks: Synthesis, Complexing Abilities and Antiproliferative Properties †
2021
Background: Dehydropeptides are analogs of peptides containing at least one conjugate double bond between α,β-carbon atoms. Its presence provides unique structural properties and reaction centre for chemical modification. In this study, the series of new class of dipeptides containing S-substituted dehydrocysteine with variety of heterocyclic moieties was prepared. The compounds were designed as the building blocks for the construction of artificial metalloenzymes (artzymes). Therefore, the complexing properties of representative compounds were also evaluated. Furthermore, the acknowledged biological activity of natural dehydropeptides was the reason to extend the study for antiproliferativ…
