Tutkielmassa määritettiin uuden suprajohtavan kvantti-interferenssilaitteen ja 256 pikseliä sisältävän sirun transitioreunailmaisimien ominaisuuksia. Komponentit vaativat erittäin matalia lämpötiloja ja suojauksen suurilta magneettikentiltä muuttuakseen suprajohtaviksi. Single-cell analysis of population context advances RNAi screening at multiple levels

Isogenic cells in culture show strong variability, which arises from dynamic adaptations to the microenvironment of individual cells. Here we study the influence of the cell population context, which determines a single cell's microenvironment, in image‐based RNAi screens. We developed a comprehensive computational approach that employs Bayesian and multivariate methods at the single‐cell level. We applied these methods to 45 RNA interference screens of various sizes, including 7 druggable genome and 2 genome‐wide screens, analysing 17 different mammalian virus infections and four related cell physiological processes. Summary: Chromatin organization plays a crucial role in tissue homeostasis. Heterochromatin relaxation and consequent unscheduled mobilization of transposable elements (TEs) are emerging as key contributors of aging and aging-related pathologies, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and cancer. However, the mechanisms governing heterochromatin maintenance or its relaxation in pathological conditions remain poorly understood. Here we show that PIN1, the only phosphorylation-specific cis/trans prolyl isomerase, whose loss is associated with premature aging and AD, is essential to preserve heterochromatin. Angļu valodas centralizētais eksāmens 12. klasei sastāv no atsevišķām sadaļām katras valodas prasmes pārbaudei, bet rakstīšanas daļa sevī ietver vairāku prasmju pārbaudi. Rakstīšana un gramatika ir cieši saistītas. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir reģistrēt un klasificēt 12. klases skolēnu pieļautās gramatiskās kļūdas 2014. un 2015. gada centralizēto angļu valodas eksāmenu esejās. Diskursa analīze ir galvenā šī darba pētījuma metode. Pētījuma ietvaros tika analizētas simts esejas un noteiktas tajās esošās biežākās gramatiskās kļūdas un to cēloņi. Inactivation of NF-kappaB attenuates encephalomyocarditis virus (EMCV) virulence by triggering rapid apoptosis of infected cells, thereby pre-emptively limiting viral replication. In visual working memory (VWM) tasks, participants’ performances can be improved through the use of dimension-based retro-cues, which direct internal attention to prioritize a particular dimension (e.g., color or orientation) of VWM representations even after the stimuli disappear. Sinhronajā tulkošanā par izplatītu kļūdu, kas mērķvalodu piesārņo ar nevēlamiem avotvalodas elementiem, tiek uzskatīta lingvistiskā interference. Pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt leksiskās interferences ietekmi uz vēstījuma precizitāti un skaidrību sinhronajos tulkojumos no angļu valodas uz latviešu valodu un no latviešu valodas uz angļu valodu. Izmantojot gan satura analīzi, gan sastatāmo analīzi, darbā tiek pētīts leksiskās interferences apjoms, veidi un ietekme. Rezultāti atklāj, ka leksiskā interference ir biežāk novērojama un daudzveidīgāka mutiskajos tulkojumos uz dzimto valodu, savukārt tulkojumos uz svešvalodu tā ievērojami vairāk maina oriģinālo vēstījumu.
