INTEREST OF LATVIAN AND LITHUANIAN STUDENTS IN SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS

Interest is one of the most important components for a successful teaching/learning process; unfortunately, nowadays students’ interest in science and mathematics is decreasing. The aim of the research is to explore the cognitive interest of 15-year- old students in science and mathematics. Students in Latvia and Lithuania participated in the survey; the data show that students’ cognitive interest in this area in both countries is mediocre. The paper proposes a reflection on the educational dimension of cartoons from the double point of view of Media Education and Neuroeducation. Cartoons are either a means to highlight the educational potential of the fictional fruition practice and an activator memory, attention, emotion and perception which are at the basis of cognition and learning. Partnership between teacher and parents forms understanding about mutual communication and the benefits for learning process out of that. Teacher’s observations points to a different understanding on the collaboration with children as a successive process in setting and achieving learning goals. The aim of the article is to reveal how to turn the initiative to involve in preschool learning process expressed by family, into planned engagement in learning process. Daily activities planned by teacher turns parents into educators and involves whole family into initiative fostering project, which strengthens overall partnership between teacher, child and family.

The main objective of this work is to know the perception of the undergraduate and master students of the three Galician universities about the plagiarism commission and check the relationship between it and the citation of documentary sources as a criterion for the evaluation of academics works by teachers of the different knowledge areas. Distance education and learning processes. A survey at University of Catania during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The emergency situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic required all Italian universities to implement alternative teaching strategies to traditional face-to-face lessons. At the University of Catania, this situation prompted the start of distance learning paths in a synchronous mode at the very beginning of the emergency.
