Homozygous mutation of Insulin receptor (INS-R) gene cause an extremely rare disease called Leprechaunism, and induce intrauterine growth restriction with poor postnatal growth, hyperinsulinemia, postprandial hyperglycaemia, pre-prandial hypoglycaemia, typical facies, lack of subcutaneous fat, thick skin, hypertrichosis, macrogenitosomia in males. The survival is severely compromised in these patients. Treatment with diazoxide could ameliorate glycaemic control, however these patients are signed by a high precocious lethality into the first 1-2 years of life. International audience; The analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that are linked to lung cancer is a very promising way in medical diagnostics because it is non-invasive and potentially inexpensive. In that sense, a silicon micro-analytical platform consisting of a three-dimensional micro-preconcentrator coupled to a silicon spiral gas chromatographic micro-column was built. Background: The diffusion of antimicrobial resistance is a significant concern for public health worldwide. Staphylococcus aureus represents a paradigm microorganism for antibiotic resistance in that resistant strains appear within a decade after the introduction of new antibiotics. Methods: Fourteen S. aureus isolates from human specimens and twenty-one from samples of animal origin, were compared for their antimicrobial resistance and biofilm capability.
