The primary aim of the study was to investigate the prevalence of burnout in Romanian medical students during the COVID-19 pandemic using the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey for Students (MBI-GS(S)). The presence of burnout was assessed based on Exhaustion (EX), Cynicism (CY) and Professional Efficacy (PE) subscales. Introduction: There is a rising number of people with diabetes worldwide. It was the first non-infectious disease to be acknowledged by the Word Health Organization as an epidemy. This is the first study to assess basic diabetes-related knowledge among students of the final year of medicine in Poland. The purpose of this technical report is to present the experience that, in summer 2018, a group of students from the University of Palermo did at the University of Malta. The students have had the experience to dissected a thorax under the guide of expert dissectors. This work would be also a small dissection guide for young medical students who want to learn the main bases of dissection.

Experience of medical students mentoring in an acute geriatric unit: Use of evidence-based medicine

International audience; n a retrospective study, we studied the learning experience of second and third year undergraduate medical students in the acute geriatric unit of a University Hospital.Students who did not receive Evidence based medicine (EBM) classes had lower grades than those who did in the final theoretical and practical evaluations (p < .01).Our experience suggested that the implementation of EBM in the curriculum through small, structured semiology courses tailored to the specificities of the elderly improved Evidence based practices for undergraduate medical students. EBM should improve instruction and mentoring during undergraduate students' clinical rotation.

Izmantojot medicīnas antropoloģijas pieeju un Guda un Klainmana darbus, es pētu, kā medicīnas studenti no Vācijas kategorizē mentālas grūtības. "Mentālas grūtības" attiecas uz dažāda līmeņa pieredzēm, kuras pētījuma dalībnieki uzskatīja par nepatīkamām. Balstoties padziļinātās intervijās un līdzdalīgajā novērojumā, es parādu, kā grūtības tiek kategorizētas kā nopietnas/nekaitīgas un normālas/nenormālas. Pirmā atšķirība balstījās pašu student noteiktos konkrētos kritērijos, kamēr grūtību nosaukšana par "normālām" saistījās ar pašu p’et’ijuma dalībnieku studiju pieredzi.
