PIP-Space Valued Reproducing Pairs of Measurable Functions

2019

We analyze the notion of reproducing pairs of weakly measurable functions, a generalization of continuous frames. The aim is to represent elements of an abstract space Y as superpositions of weakly measurable functions belonging to a space Z : = Z ( X , μ ), where ( X , μ ) is a measure space. Three cases are envisaged, with increasing generality: (i) Y and Z are both Hilbert spaces; (ii) Y is a Hilbert space, but Z is a pip-space; (iii) Y and Z are both pip-spaces. It is shown, in particular, that the requirement that a pair of measurable functions be reproducing strongly constrains the structure of the initial space Y. Examples are presented for each case.

CHARACTERIZATIONS OF STRICTLY SINGULAR AND STRICTLY COSINGULAR OPERATORS BY PERTURBATION CLASSES

2011

AbstractWe consider a class of operators that contains the strictly singular operators and it is contained in the perturbation class of the upper semi-Fredholm operators PΦ+. We show that this class is strictly contained in PΦ+, solving a question of Friedman. We obtain similar results for the strictly cosingular operators and the perturbation class of the lower semi-Fredholm operators PΦ−. We also characterize in terms of PΦ+ and in terms of PΦ−. As a consequence, we show that and are the biggest operator ideals contained in PΦ+ and PΦ−, respectively.

On non-self-adjoint operators defined by Riesz bases in Hilbert and rigged Hilbert spaces

2018

In this paper we discuss some results on non self-adjoint Hamiltonians with real discrete simple spectrum under the assumption that their eigenvectors form Riesz bases of a certain Hilbert space. Also, we exhibit a generalization of those results to the case of rigged Hilbert spaces, and we also consider the problem of the factorization of the aforementioned Hamiltonians in terms of generalized lowering and raising operators.

The quantum trajectory approach to geometric phase for open systems

2005

The quantum jump method for the calculation of geometric phase is reviewed. This is an operational method to associate a geometric phase to the evolution of a quantum system subjected to decoherence in an open system. The method is general and can be applied to many different physical systems, within the Markovian approximation. As examples, two main source of decoherence are considered: dephasing and spontaneous decay. It is shown that the geometric phase is to very large extent insensitive to the former, i.e. it is independent of the number of jumps determined by the dephasing operator.

Some classes of quasi *-algebras

2022

In this paper we will continue the analysis undertaken in [1] and in [2] [20] our investigation on the structure of Quasi-local quasi *-algebras possessing a sufficient family of bounded positive tracial sesquilinear forms. In this paper it is shown that any Quasi-local quasi *-algebras (A, A0), possessing a ”sufficient state” can be represented as non-commutative L2- spaces.

Quasi-Continuous Vector Fields on RCD Spaces

2021

In the existing language for tensor calculus on RCD spaces, tensor fields are only defined $\mathfrak {m}$ -a.e.. In this paper we introduce the concept of tensor field defined ‘2-capacity-a.e.’ and discuss in which sense Sobolev vector fields have a 2-capacity-a.e. uniquely defined quasi-continuous representative.

A quasiconformal composition problem for the Q-spaces

2017

Given a quasiconformal mapping $f:\mathbb R^n\to\mathbb R^n$ with $n\ge2$, we show that (un-)boundedness of the composition operator ${\bf C}_f$ on the spaces $Q_{\alpha}(\mathbb R^n)$ depends on the index $\alpha$ and the degeneracy set of the Jacobian $J_f$. We establish sharp results in terms of the index $\alpha$ and the local/global self-similar Minkowski dimension of the degeneracy set of $J_f$. This gives a solution to [Problem 8.4, 3] and also reveals a completely new phenomenon, which is totally different from the known results for Sobolev, BMO, Triebel-Lizorkin and Besov spaces. Consequently, Tukia-V\"ais\"al\"a's quasiconformal extension $f:\mathbb R^n\to\mathbb R^n$ of an arbitr…
