This article discusses Aesthetic dress as conceived by Walter Pater. Indeed in “Leonardo Da Vinci” (1869), the unfinished Gaston de Latour (1888-1894?), “The School of Giorgione” (1877) and “A Prince of Court Painters” (1885), Pater mentions and describes dress with special emphasis on details. Such descriptions belong to a series of writings on Aesthetic dress, admittedly a core component of British Aestheticism. Pater’s descriptions should therefore be contrasted to the 1870s portraits of Whistler, and to the 1880s-1890s writings of Whistler, Oscar Wilde and Max Beerbohm, along with the caricatures of Aesthetes by George du Maurier and Sir Leslie Ward. The thesis o f this article is a claim th at on abstract pain tin g is a literary work of a p a rticu la r kind. In this theory, on co n stru ctio n of a literary work an d on co n stru ctio n of a representational painting, Ingarden points to th e ir layered composition, simultaneously denying this ąu ality to abstract paintings. Indeed, an abstract p a in tin g lacks layers which are characteristic of representational p aintings, but it has a sound - meaning bilayer typical o f a literary work yet expressed by different means. The lack o f time dimension and literary theme, however, causes th at such a work of a rt is similar to ancient philosophical and religious treaties.

Tezą artykułu jest twierdzenie, że w założeniach teoretycznych malarstwa abstrakcyjnego odnajdujemy Platońską koncepcję sztuki. Jest to interesująca zbieżność, tym bardziej że jest ona niezależna, nie wynika z inspiracji abstrakcjonistów filozofią Platona, czy odwoływania się do jego koncepcji sztuki. Także Platon nie zakładał rozwoju takiego kierunku w sztuce, a mimo to u podstaw teoretycznych malarstwa abstrakcyjnego odnajdujemy te same prawdziwościowe, poznawcze założenia co w Platońskiej koncepcji sztuki. Określają one zarówno jej istotę, jak i funkcję oraz wartość. Stanowią także wyraz negatywnego stosunku Platona do malarstwa naśladowczego.

In the last century, the Virgin of Louvain, a small panel offered in 1588 by the city of Louvain to the king Philip II of Spain, raised some questions. Attributed to Jean Gossart (called Mabuse) at the time of its sending in Spain at the end of the sixteenth century, the painting was the object of incessant discussions in the term of which the authorship of the work was revised to be finally given to Bernard van Orley because of the figuration of the Virgin. Soundpainting (SP) es el lenguaje de signos creado por Walter Thompson para la creación sonora en tiempo real. Se basa en la comunicación y la interacción, mediante la producción de gestos, entre un compositor (soundpainter) y un grupo de intérpretes (performers). Este diálogo genera un material sonoro y visual para poder crear de manera colaborativa composiciones de arte multidisciplinar.
