Knowledge of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the Jawsamong Mexican dentists

2017

Background Bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis is an infrequent but potentially serious complication. Its treatment remains complex, and in some cases can be mutilating. Prevention, a correct diagnosis and opportune management are crucial. Material and Methods A cross-sectional study was made, interviewing 410 dentists with the aim of assessing their knowledge of the subject. Results Practically all of the dental professionals (99.7%) were found to lack sufficient knowledge of the prevention, diagnosis and management of bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis. Conclusions Actions including increased diffusion in the professional media and inclusion of the subject in training programs are need…

Synthesis and characterization of a new layered organic-inorganic hybrid nickel(II) 1,4 : 5,8-naphthalenediimide bis-phosphonate, exhibiting canted a…

2008

A new Ni(II) layered hybrid organic-inorganic compound of formula Ni{sub 2}[(NDI-BP)(H{sub 2}O){sub 2}].2H{sub 2}O has been prepared in very mild conditions from N,N'-bis(2-phosphonoethyl)napthalene-1,4:5,8-tetracarboximide (NDI-BP ligand) and NiCl{sub 2}. The X-ray powder structure characterization of the title compound suggests a pillared layered organic-inorganic hybrid structure. The distance between the organic and inorganic layers has been found to be 17.8 A. The inorganic layers consist of corner sharing [NiO{sub 5}(H{sub 2}O)] octahedra and they are pillared by the diphosphonate groups. DC and AC magnetic measurements as a function of temperature and field indicate the presence of 2…

Networks based on hydrogen-bonds containing phosphorus anions and tris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)borate nickel(II) moieties

2012

Abstract Five structural kinds of nickel hydrogen-bonded networks containing hydrotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)borate ligands (Tp∗) have been elucidated by X-ray diffraction, [Tp∗Ni(OH2)3][(p-NO2C6H4O)2PO2] (4), [Tp∗Ni(OH2)3][Me2PO2]·Me2P(O)OH (5), [Tp∗Ni(OH2)3][(nBuO)2PO2]·0.5H2O (6), [(Hpz)Tp∗Ni(OH2)2][(Ph)PO2OH] (7) and [Tp∗Ni(OH2)2(Me2PO2)] (8). The most relevant supramolecular feature of complexes 4–8 is all of them form coordination networks based on hydrogen bonds between water molecules and phosphate, phosphonate or phosphinate anions. These hydrogen bonds are formed within the monomer units in addition to connect monomers along the chains. Their behaviors in solution were investigate…

ChemInform Abstract: Tetramethylguanidine (TMG)-Catalyzed Addition of Dialkyl Phosphites to α,β-Unsaturated Carbonyl Compounds, Alkenenitriles, Aldeh…

2010

Abstract Tetramethylguanidine-catalyzed addition of dialkyl phosphites to α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds, alkenenitriles, aldehydes and ketones constitutes a practical route to a variety of phosphonate synthons. The very mild conditions employed, together with the short reaction times, make the procedure highly versatile and tolerant to a range of functionalities. The proposed methodology is also convenient for the preparation of α-aminophosphonates.

IMAGING FINDINGS SYSTEMATIZATION AND IMAGING STAGING PROPOSAL IN BISPHOSPHONATES ASSOCIATED OSTEOMYLITIS/OSTEONECROSIS OF THE JAWS

2011

Drug-induced expansion and differentiation of Vγ9Vδ2 T cells in vivo: The role of exogenous IL-2

2005

Human Vgamma9Vdelta2 T cells recognize nonpeptidic Ags generated by the 1-deoxy-d-xylulose 5-phosphate (many eubacteria, algae, plants, and Apicomplexa) and mevalonate (eukaryotes, archaebacteria, and certain eubacteria) pathways of isoprenoid synthesis. The potent Vgamma9Vdelta2 T cell reactivity 1) against certain cancer cells or 2) induced by infectious agents indicates that therapeutic augmentations of Vgamma9Vdelta2 T cell activities may be clinically beneficial. The functional characteristics of Vgamma9Vdelta2 T cells from Macaca fascicularis (cynomolgus monkey) are very similar to those from Homo sapiens. We have found that the i.v. administration of nitrogen-containing bisphosphonat…

The First Pure Mesoporous Aluminium Phosphonates and Diphosphonates − New Hybrid Porous Materials

2004

Organophosphorus moieties have been incorporated into mesoporous ALPOs through a one-pot surfactant-assisted procedure leading, for the first time, to periodic mesoporous aluminium phosphonates and diphosphonates. The number of organic groups on the surface or in the network can be modulated continuously up to the maximum incorporation level of the respective organophosphorus entities (100 %). 2013

Structure and characterization of [Cu26{2,3,5,6-(Me)4C6H-CH2-PO3}18(μ2-OH)4(μ3-OH)6(μ4-Cl)6(μ-OH2)2(OH2)2(MeCN)4]·6MeCN·15H2O (1) is reported. Complex 1 is the largest discrete molecular homometallic transition metal phosphonate assembly. Remarkably, this gigantic molecular phosphonate has been prepared at room temperature using a normal solution synthetic method.

Phosphorus Profile of Basidiomycetes

2015

Phosphorus profiles of methanolic extracts of dried basidocarps of edible and toxic mushrooms collected in Poland have been determined. Despite of the presence of standard phosphorus compounds majority of the extracts revealed the presence of phosphonates. Also, the presence of polyphospates was determined in selected cases.
