Vecāku līdzdalības sekmēšana 1.-3. klases skolēnu iesaistei angļu valodas mācību procesā

Lai veicinātu skolēnu mācību procesu angļu valodā, ir nepieciešama vecāku līdzdalība, kas, savukārt, var būt atkarīga no pedagogu iniciatīvas, profesionālās prasmes sadarbības izveidošanā un uzturēšanā. Sākumskolas klašu grupās 1.-3. klasei veiksmīgs sadarbības modelis ‘ģimene-skola’ atstāj tālejošas sekas uz turpmākiem bērna panākumiem skolā. Aptauju rezultāti atspoguļo zemo vecāku informētības līmeni par to, kas notiek klasē un to, kādos veidos vecāki varētu iesaistīties un atbalstīt savu bērnu, lai viņu bērni angļu valodas priekšmetā sasniegtu augstāku rezultātu. Invertebrate biomass is considered one of the main factors driving processes in ecosystems. It can be measured directly, primarily by weighing individuals, but more often indirect estimators are used. We developed two indirect and non-destructive approaches to estimate biomass of small invertebrates in a simple manner. The first one was based on clay modelling and the second one was based on image analysis implemented with open-source software. In this article, the research topic is to develop an evaluation model for social work with substance abusers. It is studied by presenting an example of how the evaluation process could be carried out in practice. The study has been implemented with the Department of Social Services and Health Care’s Centre for Recovering Substance Abusers in Finland (RSA Centre). Holocene sea level change in Malta

A multidisciplinary approach has been applied to study sea level changes along the coast of Malta using data collected from underwater archaeological remains. The elevation of archaeological markers have been compared with predicted sea level curves providing new bodies of evidence that outline the vertical tectonic behaviour of this region, allowing estimation of the relative sea level changes that occurred in this area of the Mediterranean since the Bronze Age. During the Roman Age, sea level was at −1.36 ± 0.1 m, while in the Midde Age it was at −0.56 ± 0.2 m, in agreement with previous estimations for the Mediterranean region.
