International audience; We report on the formation kinetics of mixed self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) comprising 16-mercaptohexadecanoic acid (MHDA) and 11-mercapto-1-undecanol (MUDO) thiols on GaAs(100) substrates. These compounds were selected for their potential in constructing highly selective and efficient architectures for biosensing applications. The molecular composition and quality of one-compound and mixed SAMs were determined by the Fourier transform infrared absorption spectroscopy measurements. Glomerular basement membrane: evidence for collagenous domain of the alpha 3 and alpha 4 chains of collagen IV.

Abstract A collagenous component(s) of Mr = 60K was extracted from glomerular basement membrane with urea and was purified. Upon digestion, it yielded a collagenase-resistant fragment(s) of Mr = 23.5K. Both component and fragment showed immunochemical identity with the noncollagenous domains of the new α3 & α4 chains of collagen IV. The component is characterized by a collagenous domain of about 280 residues and a noncollagenous domain of about 250 residues. These findings further establish these new chains as distinct entities of collagen IV.

A system for low-energy photon spectrometry using a planar germanium detector with appropriate specifications is presented. A spectrometric background investigation has been carried out with various detector shielding arrangements. The characteristics of the system for measurements of 210Pb in air-particulate matter on filters have been determined.

Purpose - The aim of this paper is to analyze the impact of an entrepreneur's social capital on their access to information, and how such access improves the performance of their entrepreneurial project. Design/methodology/approach - A structural equations model (SEM) is estimated and validated from a database including information from 282 Argentinean entrepreneurs who answered a questionnaire specifically designed for this research. Maatalousmaisema on Suomessa jatkuvassa muutoksessa, ja maisemaan liittyvät näkemykset ovat usein ristiriidassa keskenään. In doing so, we seek to illuminate the role of individuals' connectivity to work in relation to their autonomy and well-being. Bakalaura darba tēma ir aviokatastrofu atveidojuma ētiskie aspekti ziņu portālu apollo.lv, delfi.lv un tvnet.lv publikāciju vizuālajos materiālos. Darba galvenais mērķis ir noskaidrot kā pētījumā apskatīto ziņu portālu publikāciju titulbildēs atveidotas traģiskākās 2014. gadā notikušās aviokatastrofas un kādu nozīmi tās piedēvē aviokatastrofām. Datu ieguvei un analīzei pielietota semiotiskā analīze, daļēji strukturētas intervijas un kvalitatīvā kontentanalīze. Darba teorētiskajā daļā apskatītas teorijas par ziņu komercializāciju, fotožurnālistikas ētiku, interneta žurnālistiku un nāves un katastrofu atveidošanu medijos. Darba empīriskajā daļā analizētas publikāciju titulbildes un intervijas.
